Connection issues with launcher through steam

Steam user, when i open FF14 the launcher pulls up but i am unable to login to the game. all i get is "A connection error had occurred. please try again later" its been like this for 2 days. i verified the installation and it wont fix the issue. anyone know a fix or what's going on?

I have had this happen to me a couple of times, but as I found out it was due to Steam maintenance which happens weekly and lasts for an hour or two, simply login before maintenance or wait.

Other than that, it will be your connection, I would open Microsoft Edge and make sure it is updated as the launcher uses it.
