Play Dawntrail without finishing Endwalker?

My only question is: Will I be able to play Dawntrail without finishing Endwalker?

I absolutely DESPISE Endwalker and will NEVER finish it. I suffered through the utterly boring, tedious, and unimaginative main msq, then got about halfway through the pointless Undead Emo Girl 6.x msq on one character and simply have no desire to go any further. It's awful. AWFUL.

So, is Dawntrail going to be something that I'll simply not be able to access? Even if I paid for the expansion (which I stupidly did already)?

And I certainly will NOT spend extra money on buying a skip.

You have two options if you want to play any of the Dawntrail content.
1) Play through the MSQ up to and including the end of Endwalker.
2) Pay for a story skip (when it becomes available).

If you do not want to do either, you are out of luck.

Just skip the cutscenes, the 6.x plot ends exactly how you think it does.

I know I'm going to sound like a "don't skip cutscenes and enjoy the story" kind of player.
I didn't like that kind of crap myself when I first started playing and I wanted to skip so badly.
After playing three expansions, I wouldn't dare to do that even if only for a side quest.

The way the tasks are written and the cutscenes are created just fit perfectly. And even though I really disliked some parts because they weren't right for me, in retrospect I liked them.
Plus, there's a lot of little details that if you overlook, it's a shame.

Nothing will run away from you.
Just enjoy story until you reach Dawntrail. Dont worry. You will miss nothing only "hype" from community and feel of missing something.

I feel like I'm the only one who didn't mind the Zero questline. I had more difficulty slogging through the latest patch with Wuk Lamat than I did in the void.

You're definitely not the only one. Float around places like YT instead of here and you'll find a population dwarfing anything you see here that really enjoyed it. You just happen to be existing in a negative echo chamber by coming to these forums.

Try for a refund? Because yeah, 90% of this game is story locked, and you ain't getting to a new expansion with out the main campaign.
