I'm expecting a good character arc for her. My guess is she's someone who didn't really want the throne, but sees the other challengers as threats to the way of life she loves. We know one of the Mamool Ja is a warmonger. We don't know much about the other. Green G'raha seems to be a big tech bro, and they're always bad news. Not to mention it seems like he probably recruited Thancred and Urianger, and one of those betrays us every expansion, so screw team-catboy...

Well I just had an idea of better entry to this expansion than what we got.

What if we got a clue that Golden City might possibly be from another shard. This makes the storyline overall continuation of Y'shtola investigating means to get there.
Yet we learn that the continent is in turmoil since new Dawnservant is being selected so to get any progress with gathering of information we have to align ourselves with one of the candidates.
Erenvile introduces us, Krile, Alphinaud and Aliasae to Wuk Lamat, while Uriangel, Thancred and Estinien try catboy and one headed mamol ja candidates respectively.

This is more proper motivation for Scions to be involved and we are not committing politically to any of the candidates and being open to helping whoever can help us and be best overall.

She wins the whatever tournament with our help and becomes Dawnservant. Her first actions are horribly short sighted, tyrannical, and cause lots of misery, everyone in the new world hates her and we specifically get dumped on because we were the ones who helped her win. Every former Scion conveniently on the continent collectively goes "hey stop", Wuk Lamat says "shut up dad I'm important now" and brands us enemies. Bloody Banquet 2.0 except it's mid-expansion and it's a bunch of Hrothgar and Mamool Ja instead of Lalafells.
