People are speculating based off what they've seen so far. Many people aren't exactly thrilled about how she was introduced.
7,000 people on earth and I will protect them all.

thank you for proving my point! first impressions are as you say - first impressions. there's not enough there yet to dig into the true meat of wuk lamat's character to call her a "mary sue" (an outdated, useless term that means absolutely nothing and certainly doesn't apply to wuk lamat), naive, weak, etc. there's not enough there to dismiss wuk lamat or to truly analyze her on a deeper level to make any sort of decisive calls on whether or not she'll be a trash character. give her a chance.
and yes, it would! i don't see how that's a "gotcha!" at all? if someone fell in love with wuk lamat at first glance, then obviously they are allowed to be criticized and/or change their mind later WHEN we have spent more time getting to know wuk lamat as a character. which is. you know. My Entire Point.
wuk lamat has received incessant hate from day one for no real reason. well, there are real reasons, but you either know them or you don't. she's been in the game for all of fifteen minutes, give her a chance before you start trying to "deconstruct" her as a "mary sue" who sucks and has no business leading her country. you, as a player and a reader, are literally not supposed to know if that's true or not yet.
No more than any other instanced fight imo. The mechanics of them always contrive these 'dramatic' moments. She hasn't really been shown to be more powerful or competent than the rest of the 'party.'
basically we got board in Dawntrail so we are going to take a vacation and Wuk told us that she knows a better place for summer vacation.. we got betrayed now we are involved in political conflict

Patch notes featured a quest update where the objective is Cheering for Wuk Lamat. I'm afraid her chances of being a short-lived companion are low.
I personally don’t see Wuk Lamet sitting on the throne, however I suspect her character arc is going to be about her coming to this realisation.
There are better candidates who equally want what she wants out of this whole ascension thing. The only reason we and the scions are even getting involved is because one of the candidates wants to start a pointless war with the 3 great continents if they win the throne due to feeling they are superior. Our options are sit back and hope the wrong candidate doesn’t win or get involved and try to ensure that candidate doesn’t win.
I’m no doubt sure there are way more things going on that we don’t know yet.
So yeah we aren’t going to just hunt a creature, we are going to prevent a war before it even starts, that’s our WoL’s goal preventing a needless war.
As of yet, there is absolutely no reason at all why the WoL would go with Wuk Lamat. It's literally a case of going along because the plot says so.

It's because the WoL is an adventurer and it's an adventure in a new land. It's an excuse that fits all occasions, and they didn't make it much of a mystery as to that being the primary motivator. As of yet, there is absolutely no reason at all why the WoL would go with Wuk Lamat. It's literally a case of going along because the plot says so.
