Why should any of us root for Wuk Lamat?

Maybe she'll be betrayed and die at level 91 or so in the story for an actual plot twist.

Given how they Mary-Sued her into being OP in EW, I doubt this will happen lol.

What are you talking about? How is Wuk-Lamet a mary sue or 'OP?' I mean sure she's useful in the instance fight but not above and beyond what other characters have done to limit break down enemies or protect us from mechanics.

And the scene with her hand shaking suggests she isn't actually as confident as she pretends to be, leaving room for character growth. She's bombastic and competent. And I can certainly see why her personality would be grating to some people, and I do hope there's more to her character in DT than 'I will be the hokage!' But she hasn't been shown to be 'OP' imo.

Literally put us in a situation where she had to save us. Odd considering all our accomplishments and felt forced.

I found this character a bit much and grating to be around.

Also wouldn't your comment apply just as much to those who immediately fell in love with her?

For reference, the characters my personality really gels with are Yshtola, Hien, Yugiri, Kan-E-Senna, Minfilia, Ardbert, and Estinian. I just dislike characters that feel a bit....hyper?

thank you for proving my point! first impressions are as you say - first impressions. there's not enough there yet to dig into the true meat of wuk lamat's character to call her a "mary sue" (an outdated, useless term that means absolutely nothing and certainly doesn't apply to wuk lamat), naive, weak, etc. there's not enough there to dismiss wuk lamat or to truly analyze her on a deeper level to make any sort of decisive calls on whether or not she'll be a trash character. give her a chance.

and yes, it would! i don't see how that's a "gotcha!" at all? if someone fell in love with wuk lamat at first glance, then obviously they are allowed to be criticized and/or change their mind later WHEN we have spent more time getting to know wuk lamat as a character. which is. you know. wuk lamat has received incessant hate from day one for no real reason. well, there are real reasons, but you either know them or you don't. she's been in the game for all of fifteen minutes, give her a chance before you start trying to "deconstruct" her as a "mary sue" who sucks and has no business leading her country. you, as a player and a reader, are literally not supposed to know if that's true or not yet.

Welp, I just don't like her. She's not my cup of tea. Glad you like her. Seems she means a lot more to you already than she does to me.

My gut reaction to her needing to save us was actual eye-rolling and saying to myself, "Wow they really want us to like her." It had the opposite effect on me. It's fair to react to the content already in the game.

If she is who I'm going to be spending most of the expansion with, I am not really looking forward to that. It's fine that that is my honest feelings on this fictional character, and it's fine if you like her.

People are speculating based off what they've seen so far. Many people aren't exactly thrilled about how she was introduced.
