    SEA to EU, connection problem reasons?

    Hullo. Connecting from SEA to EU alongside some friends from close to it.

    So lately, as of late April the SEA to EU connection has dipped pretty sharply. While receiving 230ms tiers of latency with little to no packet loss, after the date there's been constant 1 or 2 packet timeouts with the latency being about 320ms per packet.

    Sure, I can manage the 300ms ping, but the packet losses cause mechanics and GCDs to lag or even loop back a second or two, thus causing me to get hit by stuff I shouldn't be getting hit by which has gotten really annoying these past few days, especially in gathering....

    While I haven't gotten much information out of it the causes of which seemed to be either of this:
    • The EU server provider's cables has been disable, damaged or otherwise rendered less effective by sharks or whatever sea shenanigans that occur down there. Apparently the estimated repair time is June 12, but I probably need genuine confirmation that it's happening.
    • The server by which SEA routes to EU has been forbidden to connect to their usual middle point (Russia...?), thus causing it to go from EU, to NA (closer) to SEA, and the connection is impacted due to much further distance.
    • There's a problem with my internet provider, but I've gone with places that have EU connections and I've seen little to no problem with them, so I'm convinced it's not this.

    To be honest, while I could get another VPN, the problem is that it could be prone to its own problems and possible payment so I'm utilizing a friend's NordVPN right now. ExitLag has been ruled out since it's another payment plan and it's likely it would not work either.

    OCE permanent transfer isn't a choice to make right now since I'm looking at all possible avenues, so if anyone has more solid reasons as to why the connection quality has taken a hit, feel free to (gently) suggest why...
