Without the cast time it just feels like any ordinary GCD, with the cast time it feels like something unique that's a part of what makes Samurai what it is. I feel like Tsubame Gaeshi would lose its luster as well, as that is the instant cast and it feels better since the only method of doing so is casting an iaijutsu to begin with.
a reasonable reply ty, however i feel we will just have to agree to disagree i still feel that Samurai is better off with a different form of expressing their power without the need for still casting in one place. the still casting thing already belongs to many jobs already classified as "casting" and Magical Ranged and there is really no need to dispute them having a cast bar because thats how it has always been in works of fiction for mages, wizards, sorcerers and so on.

but to me my definition of a Samurai in specific has always been a swordsman with incredible skill and incredible efficiency with the blade thats what i've come to know and its what i grew up with. don't get me wrong there are cool character with magically imbued blades or massive amounts of stored up energy to represent their power but there are equally exciting character's who are just as cool who don't have any charge ups or massive power releases as well character's who are just extremely skilled at their craft and do not need to charge up or harness anything.
