I think we're inevitably going to have to turn to worlds outside of the Source again regardless if they want to keep the game going for 10 more years.

Meracydia and Ilsabard can comfortably serve their own expansions, and Hingashi + the rest of the Othard could potentially do so as well, but at that point you've basically got the entire world covered.

Yeah, so wouldn't they therefore want to save the "check out the reflections" suggestion for us to actually go to a reflection to check it out, rather than rushing through a single zone?

I like to think FFXIV tries to sort of build an entire house with different materials serving as the bricks and foundations.

What I mean by this is that they want to have different areas of the map that serve to impress or make a group of people who play the game enjoy seeing it. Everyone has different tastes and aesthetics.
I can agree that going from something like, say Camp Drybone, where everyone is just this robed trader or dying sick citizen, and then on the other side of the world you got this BIG bright city with neon lights and high class skinsuits to match.

It's sort of equivalent to being a time traveler and showing a peasant child from the 1400's what an MLG Montage is. I'm highly sure they would just combust spontaneously.

Don't tell OP about the moon base, Azys Lla, anything related to Allagans, Amourot, Any Garlean Castrum, any Garlean bulding from the inside, Base Omicro, the Alexander Raids...

I am also curious about Heritage Found. Doesn't it look a little bit like FF9 Alexandria?

I don't mind at all the occasional technology type robots and sci-fi elements in the story. But it seems to me that in FFXIV they should be rather more mysterious and served as something really very special, not counting the Garlean army.
