You know very much what you are doing. And you've brought it up before.
Assumptions are never good. You don't even know which liquid I was talking about. Your paranoia's proving my point.

However, unlike you, I'll go ahead and contribute to why solution 9 is an issue. Stormblood's msq suffered majorly because of how it split the expansion in half between ala mhigo and kugane which had the effect of making the gyr abania side feel like a waste of time and rushed.

This is most likely what will happen, solution 9 and all whatever futuristic "nyc" they're trying to recreate as the north america of tuloyal looks to be what causes the same story and pacing issues found in stormblood, and to an extent in endwalker.

Stormblood did have issues. But a lot of that was because there was so much reptetition. Help rouse the ala mhigans to fight. Help rouse the pirates to stand up to the empire. Rouse the domans to stand up for the empire. Get the Xaela to come help you fight the empire.

Endwalker took you to three different nations on the Source, to the moon, the past and the edge of existence but it was better threaded into a single narrative.

It's possible that DT could have similar issues. But it's too early to really say for sure how well things will weave together. We are at least avoiding the problem of having the expansion's main city be disconnected from the main plot beyond being a pit stop between Eorzea and Doma.

I have a feeling though that they're going for an intentional duality here though. Mamool Ja Ja has two heads with different personalities. I suspect that Wuk Lamet and her brother will come together to rule as a pair instead of a single monarch, and with how much they keep pointing out how different Solution 9 looks, I'm sure that the contrast is completely intended and likely tying into the expansion's themes.

i dont know, change your glam to one of the 50k futuristic/modern sets we have readily available in game if it matters.. its not like we haven't already time traveler in a giant quantum supercomputer in the shape of a tower..

the games lore is pretty set in stone, its one piece, we are the remnants of a once great highly advanced civilization, that calamity set back 100s or 1000s of years technologically, but some areas are still a wash in future tech..

It's always weird to me when people act like Final Fantasy is just a regular medieval/fantasy setting.

I think they had to go this route because we already had things like Coils and Azys Lla and other Allagan advanced technology. This appears to be a society entirely divorced from that.

I mean, I agree that it doesn't fit with medieval fantasy, but nor does: Space ships flying across the galaxy, Omicrons and omega and level checkers, Lopporits (and moon hopper/traveling supporter mounts), Nier raids, Rolling Tankard, Ozma, Garleans (bikes, construct bosses, gobwalker, magitek claw) and Garlemald's cars and roads, Allagan stuff like Azys Lla and logistics node, Magitek (like FF15 car, manacutter), Skyslipper, the UFO mount.

At this point we just have to accept that SE feels they can do any genre - even sci fi or cyberpunk, and make it feel like fantasy still. After all, they did sci fi stuff in Endwalker and yet it felt like fantasy in the way they did it. Which is impressive to pull off actually.

You know, in part I agree, but in part I don't. I don't think everything technology wise they've tried has landed successfully, but you are right, we just have to accept it because what else are we going to do, its just one of the low points of the game, and thus why Solution 9 art style is a low point of dawntrail for me.

The world of FFXIV already struggles with timelines and many other issues so this just adds to it. One of the users in the first page had it right, like the game is fun but it's just not immersive anymore. You just have to accept that a lot of things don't make sense anymore as a player.

Ultimately immersion, and what does or doesn't break it, is subjective. It's similar to the Hildebrand quests. Some hate it but many of us love it.

For a lot of us, FFXIV having magic, dragons, knights etc but also magitek, moon bunnies and space ships isn't a bug, it's a feature.

For me Solution 9 is really no different from Garlemald.
