Garlic and Allag being different makes a lot of sense but uh Lopporits? Ragnarok/Teeny Tiny Toy Boat? Dead ends P2? EW tribes? I really think it's just the graphics update bringing out strong colors and we're not used to seeing that.

Can't blame them, I'd be like them too if I was required to by the government to be poured 50 concoction of liquid that's "safe and effective" before age of 9. Solution 9 is comical for this type of game. At this point, unless solution 9 itself is in alternative universe or gets blown up, I don't want to see us return to medeival/non-futuristic gear, mounts, and overall technology, as far as the WOL and his posse are concerned.
So maybe the Garleans had a good point when they called us savages.

Take your anti-vax bs elsewhere lol.
It's not ad hominem if it's attacking your point, which is "government forced liquid concoctions" aka vaccines, making people incapable of nuance.
You know very much what you are doing. And you've brought it up before.
We had a dragon fighting a beatle-like robot, we got a Gunda... G-warrior, a spaceship and not a complain.
I have 10,000 needles,
I'm not a weaver,
and I'm not scared to use them.
I can see why someone wouldn't like it.
But we've had the Allagans, the Loporrits, all of the Omega/Omicron stuff, heck a dungeon showing robots waging war with dragons. Garlemald including both military bases and now seeing their ruined city. Solution 9 doesn't really phase me. Yes it's a different flavor of sci fi, but FF has included sci fi elements since at least the SNES days, even FF1 had the War Mech. I'm not really surprised or put off by it. Last expansion's climax had us flying a space ship piloted by bunnies to the edge of existence, and then we helped a bunny and a robot open a cafe there. So for me, this isn't realy anything new.
In fact, it having a different vibe from Allagan/Garlean stuff is feature not a bug for me. I'm really curious to see what's up with Solution 9 and it's the thing I'm most interested in story wise this expansion going into it.
Ethairis is not medieval Europe and wasn't even back in 1.0.
Of course those were immersion breaking as well, some more than others. It's just those aren't new, they were complained about in their time. But I feel like how things blend together in the world and the general art style are just too different and it feels off-putting.
This is like people feeling the effects of pictomancer are too cartoony given the realism other mages effects have. So I generally prefer more cohesion than a hodge podge of disjointed themes and art styles.
