You can't fix Triple Triad. The core design of that game is flawed.

The person with the better deck wins. Or at least can force a draw. There is basically no way to win a game with a weaker deck except the other person makes a mistake. At the core the game is quite similar to Tic Tac Toe, which you also can't win when both players know what they are doing.

They added these RNG rules like swap and chaos to mix things up a bit but it's not working out.

The only thing which makes Triple Triad fair and grants skill expression is the plus rule. But plus is math. And nobody likes to do math.

And the combo is just bad designed. You can already take more than one card with plus, the combo is just overkill.

Except that NPC rarely has 5 fixed cards, but more like 7-9 fixed cards randomly picked. So as the cards are hidden, it can put the card it wants to meet the PLUS requirements. I saw that so much times i'd waste my time counting. That's ridiculous.

Talking about ridiculous, idk why my screenshot was deleted, but it showed the NPC having FOUR 5 STARS in it's deck. Ofc i lost against it. That's not the only one which has an insane setup.

Honestly I'm just sick of every gorram npc having Chaos. Chaos is not a fun mechanic. There are ways to work around a slightly weaker deck if you have all your tools, but when you only get one random tool and the AI seemingly just magically has the perfect counter to whatever card you get every single time... it's infuriating. I've been trying to get the Thaliak/Llymlaen cards today and literally 10 games in a row chaos just decided the I wouldn't get to use my one 5 star card. And only that card.

Saw some mentioning a quota on stars instead of fixed restrictions on 5/4 star cards.

So that you can pick two 5 stars but then you end up forced to pick a 1 star to fit the quota.
