I think you're unaware due to where you are in the story, but the amount of dungeons not connected that the story has reduced over time to the point where there are none. Removing dungeons that can spoil story stuff includes the majority of dungeons from Stormblood and every dungeon from both Shadowbringers and Endwalker. The last two expansions have only two dungeons each that are not part of the msq but all of those four dungeons build off very spoilery main scenario concepts.

For you this would unlock maybe two or three dungeons, at best and that's it. They've cut down heavily on the number of side dungeons over they make over the years.

There is also the other issue, others have mentioned of lower level jobs struggling in higher level dungeons without their full kit. Just unlocking those abilities temporarily for the higher level dungeons would put a lot on those players. It'd honestly be worse for them than a freshly level skipped player.

In HW/SB almost every leveling dungeon is story related, with many of the level cap dungeons being story related. In SHB/EW, there are only two non main story dungeons per expansion and they are often still spoilers in general, like Twinning isn't in the MSQ but that'd be a heck of a dungeon to have someone run with no context.

Furthermore, outside of crazy weird luck, roulettes should not be giving you the same dungeon or two once you get into more expansions. Your list of leveling dungeons grows and grows. Same with 50/60/70/80 roulette as you progress.

Main Scenario has only three duties but that's a special roulette that only exists because of the oddness around ARR's finale they can't easily just get rid of. Ex Roulette only has two or three dungeons at a time, usually two, but that's a level cap roulette you have to be caught up on msq for. Level 90 roulette has six in it which I suppose is a bit limited, but also something you haven't run into yet.

Story issues aside, it'd also just be a nightmare mechanically. How do you scale people up to these duties? Do you just temporarily scale a level 30 paladin up to 90 to tank the newest dungeon? Thrusting dozens of levels and a full rotation they aren't used to onto them and then taking it away? Not a great idea imo. Even deep dungeons limit the scope of this and, in the story mode floors, the content is generally pretty easy. That's also a special system that disregards your usual gear and item level. Normal duties don't work that way.

You also just don't have to do leveling roulette every day.

I would rather they just gave us a true roulette and I wish there was more of an incentive for ppl to unlock all those amazing lvl 50 (hard) ARR dungeons and even those from HW. I would absolutely love to get Pharos Sirius (hard) or Wanderer's Palace (hard) in a roulette again instead of just getting the same 3 dungeons over and over. They say it's random, but the way everyone seems to get the same dungeons on repeat, I have my doubts. A truly random system would at least help take the tedium of some of the roulettes away a bit.

There is no way I should have gotten King Mog for nearly 50 days straight in a true random roulette when there are no events going on to incentivize ppl to queue directly for it. I've also gotten Titan every day for nearly a month before too. And then there is all the many times I get '1000 maws of maybe I will give WoW a try' in leveling. I understand there are ppl just unlocking these fights sometimes, but the simple fact is that there are usually not any first timers and everyone seems to be overleveled in these runs. So why on earth are we getting them so often? They don't need to unlock them all, but they need to even out how often some dungeons pop or just stop compiling all dungeons ifrom ARR on into 1 roulette.

And I really miss the (hard) versions of dungeons. It was always a bit of a treat imo to expand on the dungeons we already have. Imagine Amaurot, Akadaemia Anyder, Grand Cosmos, Tower of Babil, Dead Ends, etc. in hard mode. With a lil more lore, new encounters, different layouts. The story dungeons have gotten better over time, making the loss of those updated versions of the dungeons a but more painful.

In that time, I'll go crazy seeing the same dungeon every other day. And I already celebrate when I get to roulette one of the side dungeons I saw a year ago and I've only been there maybe 20 times in that time.
    Datadisc? Really?

Also, if you have no time to play, why are you running roulettes? Do the MSQ and unlock more dungeons.

If you are not threw the MSQ yet and you "dont have much time to play" why are you side questing to run dungeons so frequently as to be tiered of your current dungeon pool?

I'm not going to pretend to be able to dictate how you play, but perhaps consider not putting the horse before the cart..

Why even run boring roulettes if you are that far behind on the story?
Ignore the roulettes and focus on quests and story instead, and soon you won't be behind.

WoW solves this pretty easy with level scaling. Basically the lower levels have less abilities, naturally, but the abilities do more damage. Therefore, t's actually not uncommon to see lower levels beating higher levels on the damage charts, lol. Simpler rotation, but more damage.

I do agree with not being able to do dungeons that you havn't unlocked with the MSQ yet...you would just leave those out of your pool until you have completed the pre-requisite MSQ.

    They're few and far between.
They could add some non lvl or msq oriented dungeons.
Or they could let the player draw from all of them anyway, the player would have to set it up themselves so it doesn't force others to spoil themself the story

Even side content, non MSQ, is full of spoilers. I have given examples of dungeons where their very environment is a spoiler.

You mentioned you are in Stormblood. Have you done the Fractal Continuum from Post Heavensward? The zone is a spoiler in itself for someone in ARR. Maybe you can argue that a dungeon like Dusk Vigil is not much of a spoiler. But Sohm Al (Hard) or Great Gubal Library (Hard) from Post-heavensward would be much more of a spoiler for someone in ARR.

If you intend those Hard Versions to not be included, then you're back to a limited selection.

And I'm not sure how far into Stormblood you are. But Shadowbringers-onward, the selection of side dungeons is incredibly small anyway, and then we're also back to "Their existence is a spoiler" zone.

That's interesting, I haven't played WoW since Cataclysm so I fully admit I don't remember a lot of specifics from it

But to be honest, I'm not sure if it'd feel more frustrating to not have my buttons, or see the level 25 lancer out-DPS a lvl 80 Dragoon lol
(Which now makes me think how much worse the "Didn't Bring a Jobstone to the Duty" issue would become in that case)
