    Game pc resource over use

    I have a:
    • rtx3070 (not ti) 8gb vram
    • i7-12700 core cpu
    • 32gb ram
    • win11

    i MAY have 2 1440p 144-165 fps capped monitor

i doubt this is a gpu/vram/spec issue but, whenever i have that open along with anything else be it high or low definition game both on my native res, ffxiv suddenly eats my entire gpu.

this has been a long term issue since i got this pc (prob over a year) and im here scratching my head if this is some faulty settings on my machine, too little spec wise or if this is how game usually behave

the second game in question was deeprock galactic which is only few megabytes hence im kinda scratching my head, doubt its a vram issue (but maybe)

    sidenote:
ive tried the native fps limiting when tabbed out from what i remember the results remain the same no matter if that setting is on and off. so im honestly lost as to what to do

    Greetings LysDragoon,

We apologize for any inconvenience experienced when trying to play Final Fantasy XIV. Using the provided information, we would like to suggest that you try the following troubleshooting steps:

    - Make sure that the Windows OS is fully updated. (Please ensure that optional items are also installed) and we would also suggest running the repair feature to ensure none of the system files/optional files got damaged or corrupted due to the power outage.
    - Ensure that the GPU drivers are fully updated (we would also suggest a clean re-install to ensure no files are corrupted)
    - Perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Then be sure to disable everything.
    - Please be sure to disable or remove any overlays (Discord, Steam, NVIDIA etc.) as they may interfere with startup.
    - If you have not yet tried re-installing the game yet, we would suggest doing so if none of the steps above resolve the issue. Please be sure that Final Fantasy XIV is installed to the C: Drive. (Having the game installed on a different drive can sometimes lead to issues)

If you do not see an improvement, please feel free to respond to this thread for further troubleshooting.

We would also like to request for a system report if possible. This can be generated by opening the launcher and going to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display and then copy and paste all the details into a response here.
