Sometimes I do wonder if to satisfy the people that want engaging dps rotations on healers we could have those added, and also have healers that work like some kind of reverse sage for people that just want to heal, which would essentially be every heal on the GCD with smaller but decent heal potencies that deal automatic damage to everything in the vicinity. The healing kit would have to be relatively engaging ofc.
It sounds crazy? Don't mind my brain addled musings.

As we saw in the Conjurer quests, Sylphie's mom died thanks to refusing to DPS. Don't be Sylphie.

I just think healers are becoming less and less needed warrior paladin and red mage can do a healer job just fine but people doesn't trust healer at all most the time making me sad because it feel like healing in 14 is well nomore needed I have now choose to take the 30 minutes penalty over healing a warrior or pal because I know I will only use glare does that sound normal?
the balance isn't here DPS and tanks have the strongest side of the stick while healer only get screw more and more as time goes.
is it bad I want all tank to lose there healing or get the darknight treatment? probably but it would make healing so much fun and even remove red mage Rez or upgrade the cost of it because it's also sad that the red mage does a better job at raising then the you know healers.
yes I am probably dreaming but to be honest this expension for me felt sad and boring because I couldn't do much healing asking a main healer to mostly DPS is sad because we get our dopamine boost from those big shield or big green numbers even seeing the HP bar of our team full.

you could actually exemple the new DoT of sch is linked the chain stratagem the give your team a bonus of critical so the DoT could give them a nerf as a comeback during the whole DoT duration like the lilly mechanic of white mage is also a good exemple of healing= DPS like they could have more of those like every stack of holy could give as strong aoe heal and DPS stuff like that

Speak for yourself; if I see everyone's HP bars full, I'm not doing my job. My job is to prevent people from dying, NOT to give them an emotional support full HP bar. If they survive each mechanic with 5% HP, but they're always surviving, that is when I'm doing my best! You are getting more heals. Every single expansion gives more and more healing abilities. But the amount of damage that you need to heal is minimal so they go unused or barely utilized.why do we get more DPS? why I aren't getting more heal?

In final fantasy most content is trivialized due to various avoidable mechanics - mobs stop auto attacking when casting a heavily telegraphed AOE, large pulls are not threatening, incoming damage is more of a mitigation test and not a healing test. Frankly there is nought else to do for a healer apart from being a glare or broil bot whilst throwing out the odd shield or heal.
