    Should be able to trade in Totem weapons back in for totem currency.

    Hi there,

    This is mostly in response to the news that new Jobs (Viper, Picto) will have old ultimate weapons made for them.

    As someone who has a few clears of UWU (The Weapons' Refrain Ultimate) and don't plan on doing it any time soon again due to irl commitments and my real life job taking up the majority of my time nowadays (plus Dawntrail coming out), I do not have any spare totems to spend on the new jobs. I put in several requests to the GMs to see if I could trade in my paladin weapons (Curtana Ultima and Holy Shield Ultima) for a Ultima totem. However they came back with the same copy-paste answer that the Item recovery/exchange service is only used for mistakenly discarded / bought items, despite this also being a case of mistakenly buying an item. I have tried several times with GMs now but I feel ignored and thrown away, being given the same excuse each time without properly explaining why it can't be done as in my opinion it seems like quite an easy thing to do. I am more than happy to use my One-time item exchange in this event as well, so it isn't like I am asking for much/

    Anyway, small rant done.

    I just got a reply back from today's support ticket with the following:

    Thank you for contacting the FINAL FANTASY XIV Support Desk.

    As explained in our previous messages, your request does not qualify to our service as this purchase was not a mistake back when you made it.

    We understand the frustration this may cause, but no exception will be granted regarding this matter as you are not eligible to the item exchange service conditions

    So in other words, we don't care about how this impacts you as a player and about your personal circumstances.

    It comes across as a very rude response whilst I have been very patient and polite in my tickets querying this whilst they HAVE NOT explained it very well as to why I was not entitled to the trading of an ultimate weapon back to an ultimate totem, up until this last ticket which is written in such a snarky way.
    It has really put me off the game for the time being, if the GMs had been more polite and concise with how they explained why i was unable to access this service in the first place (rather than it taking me 4 tickets for them to give me a somewhat-sniped explanation as to why) then I wouldn't feel alienated about this.
    This is all going to sound whiney but I needed to complain about the matter as I do not have the time to spend trying to find groups for UWU clears any more (work related, IRL issues, personal matters relating mental health etc.). So it feels like a jab at people such as myself with IRL complications pertaining to mental health issues who can't do past content like its casual content anymore.

    Nothing about that response sounds rude to me. You're asking for a refund system that doesn't exist within the game. From what you stated above, you didn't mistakenly purchase an item. Instead, you bought the item you wanted at the time and now want a totem back so you can use it on a new job.

    It sounds like you keep getting the same answer to the same question and yet you keep asking it.

    yeah ngl i've cooled down a bit now and realize i was being self-entitled and, like you rightfully put, tried to get a refund of something via a system that doesn't exist in the game. The GM team were civil in this case, it was me being childish and demanding something that 1.) wasn't in the game and 2.) not something I was eligible for. I did make the decision at the time of buying those ultimate weapons with my at-the-time totem count, and it was on me to have thought ahead and to have saved at least 1 spare totem for future happenstance rather than me chucking my toys out of the pram and shouting unfair. Apologies for the whiny behavior, definitely not my proudest moment that's for sure.

    you could farm 10-20 more totems or 2 catches for each primal in less time than submitting a ticket takes.
