I lost all my progress, what now?

I really wish I was warned of this ahead of time. Both wikis that I used never warned me about this, nor was I never notified during any of the steps of this.

So I had been working on ALL of my zodiac weapons for half a year now, I managed to get each one to it's highest level.
Completionism drives me to do the tiniest of errands just so I don't have to worry about them later.

The entire process is a massive grindfest, I had to recruit the help of other users in my fc to give me the gil and materia needed to complete certain steps.

I was under the assumption that once I got a Zodiac Weapon Zeta, I would be able to purchase replicas without needing the original copy. I didn't want the weapons taking up 8 precious slots of retainer space when I need that for crafting materials, plus you can't store the weapons in glamour dresser or armoire, so I ended up discarding them.

...Only to find out today that I can't buy the replicas without needing the original. And if I want the replicas, I need to basically do the whole entire thing all over again, 8 more times.

This whole thing could have been avoided if I had just been warned by the Wiki to never do this. Why was I able to discard the Zodiac Weapon Zetas when you NEED to hold onto them?

So at the end of the day, I've wasted tons of Gil and Time on nothing, all because I was under the assumption that they would stay unlocked. Is there anything I can do at this point? Because after all that time was wasted, I'm really unmotivated to continue playing ff14 anymore. What an absolutely baffling design choice.

I'm not sure if SE would be able to help. Item retrieval has a time period restriction of a week, I've worked over and discarded the items far beyond that time period.

Another thing I should point out is the fact that item reclaim won't work for items that have anything personalized. I think this also includes custom stats that you've added yourself through using sphere scrolls.

I could still try, but I doubt I'll get any headway due to both of those reasons why.

If you had a completed Zeta then you should be able to regain them from the Calamity Salvager. Best way to know if you've completed all of the steps is if you have access to the Z title.

I have looked through the Calamity Salvager, as far as I remember the only Zodiac weapons that can be bought from them are the originals without any upgrades.

What i think is most baffling it's why would you ever discard an item that you spent so much blood, sweat and tears on?

Amongst piles and piles of trash you could have prioritized? Like dungeon drop, overworld drops, gear that's out of date?

You can discard an ultimate totem the same way you discarded your Zeta. I fail to see the difference here. If anything you're the one being unreasonable.

Also, this is ARR content. I've read somewhere that SE had plans to make Drake sell all the versions you completed, but never did it in the end so all he sells is the first level.

As people said, disregard what you think/heard about the one time item retrieval, and try it. Its your last chance really.

This would only work for one of them as I think the OP wants all of them back. Though I do know that you don't have to have the Zeta to buy the replica as I don't have my only Zeta that I've completed on this character anymore due to having used it to skip the fate grinding step of the Heavensward anima weapon and am able to buy a Nivana Zeta relic. So I have to assume he didn't do the final final step with his Zetas or he would be able to go and get a replica version from Drake.
