i know tis not something people are interested in, i know the idea has been ignored for many years. but MAN i wish i could earn that lonewolf set.. i hate FOMO and tbh leaving it out the game FEELS like fomo. so please just add it back in any way you can that doesnt make people who earned it feel annoyed.

Personally I don't really want or need this SPECIFIC piece I just want a similar glam item that's basically a sleeveless duster I could use instead. Without the low res ARR textures. AFAIK there isn't one. Also this coat in particular is pretty much a modified Kirimu anyway.

I'm all for making non-limited versions of the gear that aren't exact copies. As much as I dislike what Feast represented, the winners should still have a way to symbolize that.

I just want more long term grinds and rewards, whether they recycle old stuff or not doesn't really matter to me.

Just let me upgrade some armor with all the commendation crystals so I can have shiny armor set and some cheesy title for multi top 100.

I actually wear the one in question in this thread.

We had to be top 100 during the feast for its respective season. items were only offered a single time for the most part, with a single recolor when it comes to armors. There were a few mounts that were offered with multiple recolors.

This particular item was given during the first season of the feast probably about 9 years ago? Back then you could gain 15-20 points in Gold and lost about 25, and needed to win 3 qualifier matches out of 5 in order to move up tiers and only your current rating was saved to the leaderboard. So losing matches pushed you down. We also had all of our pve buttons in pvp, so thereabouts 30 skills per job. (Each tier needed a larger amount to go up, I feel like it was 250 for Bronze, 500 for Silver, 1000 for Gold, 1500 for Plat, and 2000 for Diamond) There were no stars or streak bonuses.

The feast as a game mode went through a lot of changes eventually lessening skills in later seasons /expansions and went through multiple skill reworks and rules changes.

If I'm being honest, it's really hard to compare anything in the current pvp to the older pvp. This thread pops up a lot and people usually say the same thing.

So the summary is this: Players who won the rewards typically don't want anyone to have the same item, some are willing to allow undyeable versions, or some lesser version if the top 100 one we earned is upgraded. I think undyeable is ok more or less personally. But you should have to do something to earn it.

Conversely players who didn't earn the rewards want them to be offered through various means, these can vary between unfairly easy such as Trophy Crystals (This is akin to offering Ultimate weapons for poetics), to asking for them to be new top 100 rewards via tokens or something. (Not quite as bad an option but honestly top 100 in CC is not really comparable)

I used to be big on saying everyone should get the rewards back when we still had the feast, but CC isn't really comparable to older pvp, so it's harder for me to feel that way. I guess undyeable versions would probably be ok, as there would be some differentiation between those who earned it back when it was relevant.

Like you I wasn't a big fan of the idea of FOMO rewards for pvp and thought they'd eventually rotate through the rewards, but... After 20 seasons nothing was ever rotated through exactly the same way, there were recolors and reskins but nothing exactly the same was really repeated.

That being said, I believe it's already been said that they wouldn't repeat the feast rewards again, because obtaining them isn't something that can be repeated in the same way.

I'm a little curious.

What if the PvP rewards did make a comeback, maybe recurringly so, but with the same requirements to get them, through top PvP ranks.
Would the "No FOMO" people be happy to finally get the chance to get it, or would the complaints go from "No FOMO" into "Why only through PvP again? I can't get to top 100 so I'll never get it!"

I guess what I'm asking is; Would people who wish for PvP rewards to make a comeback be willing to put the same time and effort into obtaining them as they were originally?

Thank you. What an interesting perspective and background information. The old PVP sets do sound highly prestigious, perhaps the hardest thing to obtain that I've heard of. Grats on owning one! It's always interesting to learn the history of a game!

Like I said, I knew nothing of the old system and my comments were only regarding current series malmstone rewards. I don't think a newer player like me should have an opinion on such prestigious older rewards, but it sure would be cool to see them around more often, now knowing their history.

Thanks! Honestly it was super stressful for me because I was going to school and working, so everyday it was a little tense XD. During the end of every season in the final week all the rankings went dark and the leaderboard didn't update. So you would never be 100% sure if you were gonna make the cut unless you were really far up the leaderboard, and sometimes the leaderboards would change a lot during that dark week.

I think one of the reasons why a lot of people are a bit against the rewards coming back is because a lot of people went through tons of stress during those seasons.

There was a lot of players who win traded or threw games to try to obtain the rewards by cheating, which made it super mega stressful for any of us playing legit during the time frame. Not all pvpers did this mind you, but it gave the community a really bad reputation.

I think its okay for people to ask for items they've missed, we just see this thread pop up a lot and some people get really passionate about it every time it does.

I do also agree it would be nice to see them around more often, I'm sure most people with the early season rewards have probably quit the game. It was only the top 100 per Data center so in some cases I think there were 800 or less items given out, and since it was so many years ago it makes sense that a lot of people might have moved on.

For a really long time pvp wasn't being supported very well and with all the changes they kept making they lost players really fast. Around the end of Season 20 there was barely any pvp community left. This is partly what led to them creating Crystal Conflict with role free pvp to make it easier to pop and to try to do something different since past reworks of the feast didn't work.

It's also why there isn't any top 100 rewards for crystal conflict, the series pass basically took the place of those rewards, many people complained about the top 100 rewards being to exclusive and too stressful. So they made changes to pvp to try to make things as stress free as they could.

I can't speak on how well it was received, it seems the reworks to pvp was taken well, but now there's a larger pvp community that wants rewards and they don't have any rewards really to speak of.
