Dynamis doesn't need more servers, it's seriously effecting the housing market

Hello, I don't often post to the forums so do excuse me if I get something incorrect.

I am from Aether and we have a huge housing crisis problem. The last Medium that I saw had hundreds of people bidding on it. And then I saw the announcement that they want to add servers to Dynamis and not the servers that actually could -really- use the relief. Aether is greatly suffering from the lack of Housing and the economy, as a consequence, is also being effected.
Diverting people to Dynamis is not going to help, no matter what the actual offer is. Be it gil, more exp, etc.

However, if they add more servers to Aether and offer free transfers to those places as well as those benefits, it would clear up the Market instantly and would not hamper the economy.

Transfer to Dynamis so we can fill up the empty homes we have and then they can finally open up the last 5 freaken wards for all servers.

Don't you see the carrot and stick here? In a few weeks expect 2000+ queues on Aether.

They will not change this in the short to medium turn, so this is how it will be for 2 years or more.

I just hope that more people transfer to Dynamis so I don't have to keep traveling to aether just to be able to queue up for duties.

I'm guessing that you started playing FFXIV some months after Endwalker's launch.

If you had been here for Endwalker's launch, you would understand exactly why Dynamis was added as a new data center with new worlds instead of SE adding new worlds to the existing data centers.

In short: all worlds on a logical data center share the same log-in server. The more players that are trying to log-in at the same time, the longer the queues get. If there are too many players trying to log in at the same time, the log-in server will crash and dump everyone out so they have to start over.

New data centers with new worlds don't get added because of housing. They get added so players can spread out more and help minimize log-in queue times as much as possible.

Adding more worlds to Aether would only make the log-in queues worse. SE could add new wards to the existing worlds but they have no reason to when there is plenty of available housing on Dynamis and data center travel exists for friends to be able to play with friends in the same region regardless of their home worlds and home data centers.

If you don't want to move, then you don't have to. SE isn't going to force anyone to transfer. But you're going to be left fighting for housing scraps if you stay while you would easily get a house if you were on Dynamis.

I just hope that more people transfer to Dynamis so I don't have to keep traveling to aether just to be able to queue up for duties.

Other than Alliance raids, my Marilith characters don't have to leave Dynamis to queue for anything. The rare occasions the wait times feel too long (usually very late at night) I'll just throw up a PF instead and the party will fill within 5-10 minutes. The population has been in a good place for several months now. Too many got into the habit of data center travel back when the level cap population was small and so that makes things seem worse than they are.

Dawntrail launch should see most Dynamis players finally "staying home". Better to suffer a 10-15 minute wait for a duty than a 2+ hour log-in queue on one of the congested data centers to get a 5 minute wait for a duty.

I would suggest queueing as tank or healer if either is an option for you, though. There are going to be a lot of players wanting to play through the MSQ on Viper and Pictomancer and that's going create havoc with DPS wait times for a few weeks.

Lol the issue is more then one fold. It's them allowing the alt loophole. It's them not blocking established accounts from buying housing in dynamis. It's them not funneling new players into dynamis.

The devs have avenues to alleviate alot of stuff. As for us on aether. The problem stemmed from the rule tweaking back in stormblood when they grandfathered in people's extras then allowing that alt loophole to go on as long as it has without any repercussions.

Nothing changed last night other than the new worlds being added.

Takes me back to the days of "just add all the new wards to Balmung, none of the other servers need new houses."
