Am I the only one fed up with passive aggressive players?

Seriously I'm at the point I feel like I need to server transfer off Cactuar.

I legit have a situation of a stalker that goes around and spreads false rumors to any FC I join.

Yes, I have contacted the GMs in regard to it however they can't do anything because I have no name to provide which only makes this more annoying.

On top of this everyone on this server wants to be offended by anything that does not pertain to them.

you could nicely explain something, and they will find offense and do not want to be proven wrong.

Worse part is the game masters will find any language offensive even if nothing offensive or disrespectful was said.

I haven't said one raciest or disrespectful thing in-game and I recently got hit with a suspesion of 20 days only to find out later on that I have 20+ people in NN reporting me on a daily basis even on things as simple as "hello"

this server is nuts, you legit cannot help people in NN for fear of being suspended or terminated.

overall, I am likely just going to hop on for new content and then leave upon completion of said content because isn't worth stressing out about.

I have played wow for 14+ years and I find WoW to be nontoxic, you can be carefree interact with players and 99% of the time no one gives a dam, far more laid-back atmosphere so long as you are at least somewhat pulling your weight, and no one will complain.

I do think FFXIV is a great game all the way from storytelling to job design and overall uniqueness & dealing with said types of people is really damping the mood to where I can't even enjoy a game, I love

So I gotta ask. You have a stalker, but don't have a name. If you don't have a name, what exactly are you expecting a GM to do?

See that is exactly the issue, it’s legit like a needle in a hey stack that I can only reference the players they came in contact with though possible DM.

As someone who played WOW and hopped to FFXIV - many of the things that are acceptable and even commonplace in WOW are straight-up against the TOS. For example in WOW it's very common to call out or even just straight-up vote kick a player for messing up one single mechanic in a fight. That doesn't fly in FFXIV. You can't call someone out or blame someone for a botched mechanic or even a wipe. You can ask them if they'd like some advice, but if they say "no" you have to consent to that. You also can't comment on their DPS or rotations, you can't refuse to do your job to spite them either. (So for example you can't refuse to heal a DPS if you think their rotation is bad) Again, you can ask if you can offer advice, but they are free to decline.

WOW shout chats also tend to be very "political" and discuss many "social issues" (at least when I was still playing), that doesn't fly in FFXIV. Things like politics, social issues, and religion are not okay to discuss, even if you are in a private or semi-private chat (like an FC chat) if you make a comment that makes at least one person uncomfortable, they are within their right to report you and a GM may take action against you.

Now, I'm not saying you did any of these things specifically, but I'm trying to give you some examples of how the two games differ to help you understand what might of actually happened. Because, you're right, you probably didn't say anything OVERTLY offensive, but to catch a 20 day ban, which is quite severe, something you said violated the TOS.

I don't think transferring servers is a terrible idea, you're on a very populated one, it would even be beneficial for you to duck out of there before Dawntrail and guarantee yourself a lower queue time elsewhere. However, you may need to examine your behavior and how you are speaking to other people and the topics you are bringing up. Because if you are violating the TOS, even if you didn't intend to, the same problems (except the stalking obviously!) are gonna follow you. Here's a link to the prohibited behaviors in FFXIV.

I have noticed that this game feels infinitely more antisocial than any other MMO I've played, if not because of the sheer lack of a need to speak to any player at any point in gameplay other than high-end, then because nobody ever talks to each other outside of cliques. The height of social interaction I've experienced during my time playing this game are Manderville flash mobs and the occasional 4 sentence conversation with someone in a duty. This includes my time in premades and FCs. In every other situation, I might as well be the only human player.

It's the complete opposite in WoW, probably due to the mentioned comparatively-lax restrictions on chat.

I'm not going to lie but you not being able to give specifics on your stalker plus the side-lined admission you got banned, which in 10 years of playing I've never known anyone who got banned at all with exception of RMT people. Makes me think you said something in chat public multiple times probably in frustration, the type of thing that would fly in WoW which lets be honest is 1 step up from CoD lobbies for toxicity. Now people on that server don't want to play with you, which honestly if that many people have issues with you, maybe it's you. How about eating humble pie and asking some of these people what it is that's been said and try a dialogue and if you did say something apologise.

Most of this is not true. You can call someone out for messing up a mechanic or causing a wipe. You can vote kick or kick, if you have that power, someone for messing up a mechanic. You can comment on someones rotation and even allude to their dps being low as long as you don't state the actual numbers (you could easily say you can tell their dps is low based on their enmity number or somehting.) I'm not saying you should be doing these things but just doing them is perfectly allowed.

if you don't have house (and even if you do have house, just consider if it's worth it), just move. it doesn't sound like you are losing much by leaving server like that behind.

go far enough, but also maybe close enough still that if you absolutely must go to cactuar, you can server hop there.

You don't get reported on a daily bases, aswell as a 20 day ban for nothing. Be honest with yourself here. I do recommend leaving cactuar yes if you can't start again. But I think the issue here is entirely internal

This is exactly how I feel about this, you can easily be punished for trying to interact with other players even if it’s being respectful
