Questions about your reception to Dawntrail

1) late ARR first time, dropped it soon after, came back for Shadowbringers.

2) Yep, well, I'll be playing the game, I'm taking some time off a couple of weeks after release to go through the MSQ, so the first week or so I'll probably still be doing some catch up stuff. I am looking forward to it, want to take this one slow and enjoy the world building/side quests/everything as intended, I've recently been going through old expansion content, and realized just how much I missed by focusing mainly on the MSQ.

3) I have no strong feelings one way or another about the media tour, I don't really pay attention to that stuff much, and don't follow anything FFXIV related on social media, other than the little bit I see here.

2. Yes, I am. This is still my favorite game and I enjoy it regardless of how gutted my favorite jobs (Dark Knight, Astrologian, Summoner) get with each expansion. I take things as they come and having something new to do in the game is exciting for me as I have the most fun at launch.

3. No. Media tour never sways me one way or another. This time my interest was seeing the graphics update in motion but since the footage was so heavily compressed there wasn't much I could glean from it.

I quit complaining years ago and have grown tired of others complaining, what point is there wasting my breath when I know that no matter what CS3 does I am still going to play?

I won't. And I haven't been looking forward to it. A big reason I have stayed playing the game for this long is having an investment in the world and interest in the lore, characters and storyline. I feel all those aspects have been severely degraded with the choices made and direction taken in Endwalker. I'm not interested anymore, I don't really have any faith this new story is going to be something I'll find worthwhile. However I was still planning on playing at launch, just out of a kind of habit and to experience a new expansion with my long time friends who pretty much only resub for new expansion releases. But since seeing how my character looks in the new graphics, I don't see myself ever installing Dawntrail. I cant see how I can be expected to go through the MSQ playing a character I've had for 14 years whose face is now ugly to me. It was after the Benchmark release that I canceled my preorder.

There's nothing they'll show that will change my mind. I think we all know what to expect from their usual content formula so I can safely assume there won't be any kind of game changing factor forthcoming.

1) i stepped into the 1.0 world and unfortunately my pc couldnt handle it. i came back for a realm reborn and played on/off throughout expansions. i've been here for every exp launch so far.
2) yes and yes. i'm very excited, especially for the graphical changes. i'm hoping things continue and one day... one day more customization... maybe... anyway. friends, game, stuff. yes. i'll be here.
3) uhhhhh i dont..think i paid attention to it... and no, my mind's not going to change, i want to play it and changes to the gameplay aren't going to make me whine and quit. i relish changes. i think we need multiple changes. i think the combat system is super old school and would love a realm re-reborn just to change SO many things honestly, but that's asking a lot. change is good - change means things can be different.

I will, and I'm very much so looking forward to it. As to why, honestly the answer is very simple: I just have fun. I'm also very excited about the graphical overhaul. As I play through Danwtrail, I'm also gonna replay the entire story in NG+ whenever I have some random free time, just to see everything with the new visuals.

Nope and nope, unless they suddenly change the sub to $60 a month or something.

Only because it'll take some time for a game I'm importing at the same time to actually get here, once that's here this game'll be on hold. I'm not particularly looking forward to it due to it being a lot more of the same in the absolute worst ways.

Yes it did, because once again seeing that it's just more of the same in the worst ways. There isn't anywhere near enough time for them to do something that'll change my mind. But who knows, maybe they'll actually do something by 7.2 and not change the date where we can expect something to be fixed again before then.

I'll be in Early Access. Yes, I am looking forward to it, the story seems like it'll be interesting.

Not really, Media Tour is only really a hype engine. I don't think my mind will change before DT release.

Started in beta foir 1.0. First expansion I am very indifferent about and have been getting less and less hyped for as the live letters and media tour pieces of news come out.

Nothing really looks exciting outside of the FFXI raid and after what they did to the Twelve, I am very apprehensive on what they will do to the Shadow Lord and others. The combat news is very disappointing as well. I literally dropped smn as my main the moment I saw that dumb new Bahamut.

I was really hoping for new protagonists, our lil troupe of scholars that have been tagging along since 1.0/2.0 are getting really old and I really want to be able to explore and experience the world on my own, with the locals of that area and without being told how to expereince it from the Leveilleur and Co. guided tour. And frankly if I have to see Graha eating one more taco....

I feel like this one is the first with this many people either uneasy or straight up apathetic to the newest expansion.

It happens at literally every expansion, every patch, and pretty much every event, announcement, or any time the dev team sneezes.

Anyway: Started in Heavensward. I'll be here at early access, unless the servers blow up like at EW's launch, in which case I might just go find something else to do until it calms down a bit. Somewhat looking forward to it, but having half a patch to build up to it unlike the two whole patches of the last three expansions didn't really do it any favors. Didn't really pay attention to the media tour, so it has no real effect on me one way or the other.
