Since I have recency bias now, I'm generally going to speak from that experience. My experience is that I had to GCD heal a decent amount (some of them could've likely been skipped, but I preferred to clear) because my cohealer was lining up orange and pink numbers. From my own experience, it's not true. Most of my clears have higher overheal rate than my cohealer and I can still get clears with a nice paint on my shoulder even though I always wear non BIS gear due to my laziness. This is coming from someone who never farm Savage content to git gud as I rarely have clear record more than 8, as my achievement shows.
You don't need to be hyper-optimized in healers to start ignoring healing GCDs, so do your cohealers.
I felt like the raid damage on initial clears was pretty good because we cleared with crafted gear, but pretty soon (due to ilvl scaling) it got out of hand and even with missing mitigation, it felt like it wasn't scathing. I feel like this part is more of a gear bruteforcing issue rather than the jobs themselves, but I do take your points.
I'm not against it at all, I just think it's wasted breath unless the players do something actual drastic, if you're not happy with it, do as I do and unsub until you're satisfied with whats released, I plan on doing this after DT's story cause that's all im interested in for now(bearing in mind I still havent finished ew's story because I havent logged in).
''hey, does anyone not like chocolate?''But echo chambers are SO much more comfortable!
''yeah im not fond of it''
''oh my god look at this echo chamber guys''
If it's wasting breath, like, why are you here? Genuinely curious.I'm not against it at all, I just think it's wasted breath unless the players do something actual drastic, if you're not happy with it, do as I do and unsub until you're satisfied with whats released, I plan on doing this after DT's story cause that's all im interested in for now(bearing in mind I still havent finished ew's story because I havent logged in).
Calling this thread an echo chamber is rich. I see quite a few people expressed disagreement with not a single person jumping at them.
The difference is that those people are cordial and respectful in their disagreement, many others are rude.
I know many think this thread is not going to achieve anything and it's just healers venting their frustration, etc. But I believe it can achieve its goals, all it needs is to reach some XIV and MMO Youtubers. And from there reach a very huge platform, for example (gods forgive me) Asmongold. Just some of the huge Youtubers taking a look at the thing will make people talk and whisper about the whole stuff.
The timing is perfect, just think about it. It's about two weeks before Early Access. FFXIV has this reputation of a perfect MMO, where players are always content with the game state because the developers are the best and listen to players. And then suddenly, something as dramatic as #FFXIVHEALERSTRIKE happens. Is everything truly fine in the FFXIV kingdom? Stay tuned to find out!
Such controversy has to be addressed by developers in one way or another.
