    Its nice to hear new voices from outside of the typical Forum Visitors, it showes that the problem described exists and gets perceived even without the Strike.
    Because some people act and tell others that its just a handful of people being loud without any substance behind the critic.
    And well new people that saw it before show that this isnt the case.

    Part of the problem is the general playerbase of MMOs have gotten better, we have more resources to get better at pretty much any game in the world. In MMOs the priority is always doing as little non DPS actions as possible and as many DPS actions as possible, it's why GCD healing is removed from play if it's made possible in the game. This happens in WoW and GW2 as well, learn as much about your class and encounter as you can so you spend more time damage dealing than healing.
    GCD heals will always be low priority for high end healer players because of how MMO playerbase thinks.

    Well for WHM they should just make all non- lily heals have a chance of procing sacred sight to start with. I always believed the best way to handle WHM is to remove all oGCD heals off of it but have it have mechanics to charge it's DPS to refund the damage from that missed GCD, like how blood lolly works. It makes WHM a pretty easy entry level job because new players will be able to understand heals make my attacks stronger so I should do both.

    There's tons of ways you can handle the other healers having sacrificeless heals, technically scholar is built around it since you can use your fairy to heal quite a bunch. But yes if there's going to be bloated healing kits because of the archaic design of "healers should just heal" they should at least make the healing actually fun.

    It is funny that they are so against this strike but also thinks it's useless but still tries to convince people that they think the terribly designed role isn't terribly designed and that we just don't like it.
    Right below a post that shows healerless run week 2 and tank only run week 2, it's pretty funny.

    The problem is less "healer should heal" and more that the rest of the design doesnt support the approach, if we would actualy mostly heal and use out broad arsenal of abilities and only attack when we have a window for it then we would partialy sing a other tune. We would probably still complain about the weak class design overall but atleast there design would work.

    Problem is ff14 has not been designed for this for 10 years so if they wanna make this design work they'll have to rework all new encounters to promote this then we will have 10 years worth of the opposite for new players to go through and be confused by once they hit the new encounter design.

    This. Can't adjust/fix one without adjusting/fixing the other, and that terrifies them. The undertaking would be massive.

    I'm a pretty "casual" player in some ways, but I actually canceled my sub over this. Today was the end date for my sub, and I was thinking about reactivating but have decided not to. The game has a ton to offer, but playing healer is what I enjoyed most. I loved how dynamic the gameplay was. It reminded me of playing Druid from WoW or some of the classes like Cleric and Friar from DAoC back in the day. 85% of my time spent was just playing one of the four healers. I even preordered Dawntrail and got some of my other characters to 90 in the meantime, but then I just kind of abandoned the game because it wasn't fun anymore for me. I actually stopped playing FFXIV a while ago and let my sub keep running to see if things might change.

    Most of the other roles are just too linear for me. I think the video on YouTube about #FFXIVHEALERSTRIKE got recommended to me because I've been searching over the past few days for a new multiplayer game to play. I will 100% come back if they fix (or transform) healing. I'm totally down to play a buff/debuff role. Loved playing Bard and Enchanter in the original EQ.

    I am probably well in the minority, but I don't think I am alone. There are definitely people who play this game for just one single element, and for me that was being Healy McHealerson. But nobody needs Healy no more.

    wouldnt it be nice if SE had some kind of exit survey? that way they could have numbers and reasons.. instead, SE and people like Striker just prefer people disappear and never give a reason as to why they left. I agree with you, they have neglected to do anything about market bots, so crafting died for me, and they obviously dont give a rats behind about people who enjoy healing.. so not much left here for me either.

    There definitely should be better ways for international players to get a message to the devs than just hoping someone takes the message to them... And if they only listen to Japanese forums, maybe the solution is to just start blasting the forums up with machine translated posts.

    They'd probably just lock and/or delete the threads, rather than actually ask themselves 'hmm, wonder why all the non-JP players are posting Google Translated posts on the JP forums instead of using the EN ones'

    AST could have easily been the 'job for players who prefer buffing allies instead of dealing damage', by making the cards be a more central part of the gameplay, but they went the opposite direction with DT and reduced how much the cards have an effect on damage
