Fabulous is a fine response. Also healers conplain they are bored then complain when they need to heal...
Bit mainly the condescending "Don't make your healer mad" and then not healing. You are acting foolish and sabotaging the whole group. Just finish the low level dungeon and block them if they are jerks.
I mean, I like to consider things from the other angle.
Like, you’re a dps and the healer is one of those absolutely terrible ones. Spamming Cure exclusively, spamming GlareBroiletc without healing oGCDs, getting hit by AOEs and having to stop and heal themselves or whatever.
The DPS decides to stop attacking. ‘This healer is so bad I’m going to punish them by making them their run take so much longer!’
Doesn’t that seem a little petty? Surely if it’s such a major problem one could just leave? Being frustrated and annoyed in that situation makes perfect sense, but isn’t it just sinking to their level to throw away a portion of your responsibilities within the parties? I mean, assuming having an honest conversation with said healer is out of the question.
Honestly I enjoy having players that are struggling; it actually makes it feel good when I can help them, rather than just going through the entire dungeon with everyone doing everything perfectly.
Not sure what ‘Queen Bee’ complex is exactly, but I think in times when players like this appear it’s better to just do what you can and hope that one day they’ll see the error of their ways (or unsub lol)
Healing is equally boring because, outside of SCH, the other healers don't really require any real thought behind them. Cure 2, Helios, etc are all flavorless vanilla heals that you don't really have any interaction with, apart from 1-2 skills that buff how much they heal so it's not particularly engaging. After a point, it just becomes more cost effective to forgo healing and rezzing someone that refuses to do mechanics.
ok fine they stood in a few mechs, they could have survived had you done your job, theirs is damage. yours it to heal, petty and low for you to just not heal them and play your part of the group properly. telling someone to "be careful to not make a healer angry" is classic healer toxic god complex. neither of you were a team player in this situation and im not defending the DPS at all here, but you could have been the bigger person and not be petty about it and just say "we'll be better off as a group if we work together". but naw you stooped just as low as the DPS, no sympathy for you from me.Today almost me hung up healing.
I was doing a low level dungeon with some level 100 VPR.
The guy wasn't doing any mechanics and didn't make any effort to avoid AOE... After a while i asked him to do it.
The answer was "fabulous" : who care you will heal me.
After that the only "healing" he got was rez....He got peeved and began to becoming agressive.
i answered to him that i'm not a heal bot and he should be carefull to not make the healer angry... He left and was very quickly replaced by a very good SAM.
This is becoming absurd.... Between entitled DPS, Tank thinking they are invicible (Except DRK ^^), and the overall lower skill level and politeness.... It's becomming rather bad to be healer.
There's a difference between taking hits from getting too greedy (it's hard not to with Melee or Caster) vs showing no effort to avoid damage and acting like it's not their responsibility when asked.
I won't blame the healer for returning the disrespect. There's no reason to enable that kind of behavior.
Both are just as bad.
I actually went to WoW and I am having my mind blown at how engaging healing is, it is a lot of fun. This is what is confusing me. How is it that square can't make the role of healing engaging and fun for those who enjoy the role of playing healer and support. The healer role in FF14 is also missing a big part of what makes healing fun in most similar games. The healing and supporting, I don't mean supporting by slapping down damage but by having ways of buffing your allies or debuffing enemies. Square has taken everything from one role and spread it out so much among other roles that the role of healer just isn't needed.

#FFXIVHEALERSTRIKE
and so the toxic cycle continues. you say there is no reason to enable that behavior but you just said its ok to return disrespect and essentially enable that behavior. are you just a hypocrite? or is it simply bias because they were a healer in this instance. hmmmm makes me wonder.

Nah, there isn't. If you don't heal to "teach" the DPS a lesson, you are not doing your job and should get reported.
