The Japanese forums have been reasonably balanced if you wish to go in and take a peekThere was someone from JP commenting here some time ago.
He came here after someone from here had posted about this Strike on the JP forum and he got a little curious and asked some stuff.
Mostly tried to understand why people Strike.
Appears the translation wasn't that well done and didn't leave the best of impression.
He mentioned that most people who read said post didn't understand why people would Strike and thought it to be excessive.. I did provide a small list of quotes from the main healer strike thread on JP forums. It should be here somewhere on this thread.
I think I saw it while it was still a "new" post.
And yeah, when that guy from JP was here chatting a little was some time ago, so wouldn't be surprised if they have started talking more about this since.
He did however mention that there were those who ofc could agree, even he himself, that Healers didn't have much to do during times when no one was damaged.
They simply thought that creating a Strike over it was excessive. But they could agree on that Healers might not be in the best of spots when it comes to fullfilling job role.
JP forums just aren’t that active in general but healer does seem to be overall the role that they are most dissatisfied with (Kaiten was a big one but they seem collectively fine with DPS). This isn’t to say they are angry just mildly bleh about the role for a variety of reasons. A larger than most consensus seems to want more to heal which is basically the only somewhat unifying opinion. Quite a few like how easy they are but they have also got rebuked as “in a role of 4 jobs not all 4 need to be easy”
They disagree with the nature of the strike as an action but they don’t seem to oppose the idea that people want to be heard (especially because the prevailing view on the JP forums is the devs exclusively listen to us and ignore the JP forums). They don’t really like how vitriolic our forums are but theirs are also way more strongly moderated
Overall there is no real strong motion either way in JP, just a mild “bleh” they basically have about any change that isn’t like the first benchmark
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
Unfortunately I live on the East Coast, playing my home server as it is, I can already see 100 ping (sometimes over), EU is like 110...so not much different. :[ (3,000 mi one way or the other, it's still 3000 mi)
Hopefully they release that cloud server...25 ms ping was such a beautiful thing.

1: Healers need something to do when they aren't healing, the lousy one button dps experience and occasional second just is not enough.
2: The sustain of the nonhealer jobs has taken our job from us...which has left us nothing to do besides our lousy one button dps experience.
3: We do not need most of the healing buttons...a lot of those buttons can straight up be removed or consolidated. Which would be a good thing to consolidate using the new sys.
4: Pure & Shield means nothing and having any combination of the two is just overkill.
Then you don't know the full extent of the issues. You just don't know any different, sounds harsh but it's true. If you'd like to know more, go read the thread, look at the ample examples laid out by more articulate users than me.
If not then, ok... thanks for the bump!

Sounds like they basically have the same viewpoint we do, they're just more tempered in their response to it.
I'm a bloody beginner, but I think there are healer specializations in LoTrO for both Runekeeper and Minstrel. Both can do minor healing even if not pure healers, but they still DPS.
Rune-Keepers have 2 damage and 1 healing spec.Rune-keepers must choose during each battle to focus on damaging skills or healing skills. Either choice shifts their Attunement, unlocking more potent skills, but the choice also restricts access to other skills. In addition, they have support skills that may always be used. In Fellowships, a Rune-keeper keeps allies healed, or deals significant damage to foes.
Lore: Rune-keepers are gifted linguists and masters of true names. With this knowledge, a Rune-keeper crafts powerful rune-words that help the Free Peoples. Through unparalleled mastery of Angerthas and Tengwar runes, a Rune-keeper evokes much more than a normal scribe. Dagor runes deal with battle, Nestad with healing, and Thalas with support.
The class is inspired by the master Elf-smith Celebrimbor, whose skill with runes of power was unparalleled.
Minstrels on the other hand, have a damage spec, a healing spec and a balanced spec that does both damage and heals, as well as buff incoming and outgoing heals with their base skills, IIRC.
Gameplay: Minstrels are known for their healing abilities, and are capable of dealing respectable damage with War-speech. They have a variety of support skills and special Ballads. Using a Ballad unlocks more potent Ballads, which culminate with powerful Anthems. In Fellowships, a Minstrel keeps allies healed and supported.
Lore: Middle-earth is a land deeply infused with music, and true Minstrels are skilled at tapping into that power. They weave songs and tales so stirring that their companions' morale will not fail, and they will be driven to perform greater feats of prowess. They can even utter words of true power, and ward against the forces of darkness with their Anthems.
This class was inspired by Lúthien Tinúviel, whose Elven voice beguiled friend and foe alike.

There's no reason for them to alter healers to suit a small number players who have maxed out the game to a point where the only way to give them a new challenge is to remake healers entirely. It's better to seek out new challenges and maybe play another game for a new challenge.
I just did quick glance at the Europe Raiding Central discord and it seems healers are the most sought at role atm for statics.
In a perfect world, the role should be in a state where 25% of the people play it.
Or - some healer mains won't like this - in a state where people that don't main them can pick them up and play them while having fun.
