I like how this thread has surpassed the original healer complaint thread in a fraction of the time. Very fun let's keep it going!

[*]Self-sustain and healing abilities given to other roles.
The choice/direction to give such abilities to roles outside of healer encroaches on the role.
WAR, PLD, GNB and Red Mage????
No other classes have any type of heals that would make healers completely worthless or easy to replace.
But you ever asked yourself why that it? Why tanks have that type of heals?
Small clue: To help the Healers.
[*]Over simplified DPS rotation
Every job in FFXIV has a 'filler GCD' skill that they press when there are no other requirements... etc
Ever asked why that is the case?
Small clue: People play with a controller. Do a full rotation on a controller while keeping the heals and target swapping in check.
DPS and Tanks dont need to worry about being on a controller and the rotation can be more or less complicated, you can macro the small bits but 99% of the fight you only target one thing: THE ENEMY.
[*]Homogenization of healer jobs
Barrier/Pure healer split is largely redundant...etc
So, whats the big idea?
You know why BLM feels rewarding for knowing when to play your Lay Lines? Because knowledge is power. Its the same for Barrier healers, knowing how and when to use said barriers. FAT Barriers that make the boss deal 0 damage feel sooo goooood.
Pure healers are the easy way in, White Mage is the easy one, Ast is the Hard one.
You can have 0 knowledge of a fight and still do a pretty good job, learning and reaching the point where you can swap between Barrier and Pure heal and not feel punished. Again: Knowledge is power.
[*]Excessive oGCD heals.
These are not only abundant, but exceptionally powerful.. etc
You should be thankful that those abilities are so many, expecially for casual play. Its casual content, it should be relaxed and easy to tackle, for those that seek higher challenges, there are modes that provvide said challenges, where you plan stuff ahead instead of "yolo". Do those.
[*]Lack of engaging content outside the most difficult duties (Savage/Ultimate). i.e. the threat level is too low.
Healers should feel like they have a place in all forms of content... etc
Have you ever tried to Mentor Roulette with a healer? Like, ever?
Its casual content with the spice that you seek in those "casual contents" but with a bit of challenge.
Tanks that dont use CDs, Dps that run wild or do so little damage the mobs start using "Final Sting".
The big pulls at Bardam's or Holminster's, the absolute chad pull on Mt. Gulg.
I get your idea with the strike, but this is just... stupid.
Making your life easier with mitigation? nha mate, you want to heal it all? Addle? Feint? Tactician?
Remove ALL and you shall enjoy your panik heals because EVERYONE IS DEAD.
You are burned out of the game or healing, trying something else.
As someone who has always played on controller, I still want a healer who has a hyper aggressive play style. That is my preferred play style: a healer that juggles offense and healing in tandem. Not every healer needs to play this way, but I would appreciate having just one. Thank you
Sage has failed to live up to the fantasy of a sci-fi DPS healer. Please change this for 8.0. Make Sage fast, exciting, and aggressive. It should feel like a healer that plays like a DPS. Empower the aspects of Sage's unique healing mechanics: Kardia and Eukrasia to give its healing playstyle more identity.
Okay, want me to run a dungeon with you as WAR or PLD and replace you then Sham? Dw, you can be the healer and have nothing to do...in fact, I have even done the MT gulg pull without a healer lel, the Chad pull as you put it.
I will literally give you the evidence you need on a golden platter, so let's do a dungeon together. =]

1: Healers need something to do when they aren't healing, the lousy one button dps experience and occasional second just is not enough.
2: The sustain of the nonhealer jobs has taken our job from us...which has left us nothing to do besides our lousy one button dps experience.
3: We do not need most of the healing buttons...a lot of those buttons can straight up be removed or consolidated. Which would be a good thing to consolidate using the new sys.
4: Pure & Shield means nothing and having any combination of the two is just overkill.
Point 1- there are also healer strength heals on DNC, MNK and 2 on SMN, that’s what half the non healer jobs at this point. Starry muse having a heal is literal pointless fluff that exists for no reason at all but erodes our role. I challenge anyone to justify why starry muse has a heal, it relates to nothing about PCT’s gameplay Tanks don’t “help” us they replace our role with their strength
Point 2- you are seriously infantilising controller players here. I play across both and I genuinely find healing easier on control because it has soft targeting capacity than MKB doesn’t have, cross hotbars also are more fluid access more buttons
Point 3- barrier healers aren’t any harder than pure healers because you don’t play them around barriers, they are just regen healers, the regen healers are pure healers, neither is sufficiently diversified from each other and they all have the same DPS rotation
Point 4-in TOP you barely use half your oGCD’s and most of the time you still have 40-60% overheal, the top end isn’t challenging our kit either and our GCD heals are rotting away
Point 5- as has been discussed ad nauseum a roles entire purpose in 95% of the games content shouldn’t amount to “yeah but what if the tank is absolute garbage”
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
The crazy thing is, dps and tank jobs never needed to have all those party heals and shields to have fun. Viper was tested by several media tour visitors and pretty much all of them said it was very fun to play. The job only has two melee role skills for self healing and it can't save others, but that was not an issue to any of the testers.
It literally wouldn't hurt anyone's enjoyment if healing skills were limited to healers, because other jobs already get their enjoyment from doing their primary role.

Healers have been neglected for 3 expansions now and this needs to be rectified with the following:
- An engaging DPS kit beyond a nuke and DoT.
- Increased incoming damage so we have more to heal.
- Distinctive playstyles amongst the healers.
- Some nerfs to non-healer heals, we shouldn't be replaceable.
Okay so in order:
You've literally listed 3/4 tanks being problematic, I have no idea how this is a counter argument.
Target swapping has nothing to do with a damage rotation, it's all just targeting the boss, it's literally oGCD heals that have you swap between allies and enemies rapidly, Dia being a 15s DoT or PoM being a 60s CD is irrelevant. In fact "but the controller players" directly conflicts with oGCDs being so abundant, surely you should be supporting a consolidation here so there's less target swapping.
Mentor roulette is just a hilarious example of intensive healing. A solid portion of the playerbase does not even have access to it so no, I haven't actually tried Mentor roulette, I physically cannot because I'm not a mentor.
