    Ah, it's not just synced content. I came here to post this:

    I just finished one of the two extra level 100 dungeons you need to unlock to activate Expert Roulette in a healing role. Duty Roulette, so random party members, and tank was a warrior. It was my first time in the dungeon and I died on the final boss at around 70% to a mechanic I didn't recognize. Rather than wipe the fight, the two dps and the tank continued to fight the boss. You can guess where I'm going with this.

    Multiple times, the DPS hp dropped very low. The warrior was able to heal them back up to full at least twice, and they successfully downed the boss with all three players' HP almost maxed out. The two dps were a viper and a pictomancer, two classes on the weaker side of self sustain if I understand correctly.

    Rest assured that, even at level 100 in the Expert dungeons 1 week into expansion launch, you contribute nothing of value to a run in the duty finder, as it has been since 2019.

    The run was still done in under 15 minutes, so it can't have been a big difference. It was also my first time doing the dungeon, so I have no idea what my average time might otherwise be. If it was just a solo WAR I'm sure it would have taken ages and been very annoying for everyone, but the WAR was also keeping the DPS alive.

    I had that happen in a leveling dungeon as well, 97 I think. Healer died at 70% ish, rest of the group just finished it. I don’t think the tank was a WAR either but I might be misremembering that.

    Why is a berserker "too angry to die" job healing the whole party? Someone explain what kind of class fantasy is this supposed to be.

    NPC healers can do that in trusts.

    FFXI even has Reraise, so it's not like it has no precedent in an FF MMO. I'm personally more partial to Phoenix Downs being useable during combat since it allows all jobs to effectively have an emergency rez, but Reraise on healers could work with some balance adjustments such as less damage while under the effect of Reraise, a severe cooldown, can't be used during combat, skips weakness and goes straight to brink of death, etc. As long as it's not all of the above I could see it working.

    Healers have been neglected for 3 expansions now and this needs to be rectified with the following:
    1. An engaging DPS kit beyond a nuke and DoT.
    2. Increased incoming damage so we have more to heal.
    3. Distinctive playstyles amongst the healers.
    4. Some nerfs to non-healer heals, we shouldn't be replaceable.

    Actually had this same exact thing happen yesterday at Deadwalk while doing my EX roulette.

    Healer died to the first ward mechanic and we we're able to finish the fight even through the nasty bleed raidwides. Tank didn't even need to heal me, I just used bloodbath + reawaken to top myself up.

    I even got hit by one of the line AOEs trying to cross over to the other side, tank just used a clemency on me.

    Fight didn't take long at all, and I felt super bad for the healer because it was her first time in the dungeon
