It does genuinely seem that there was an attempt to design more frantic fights with plenty of avoidable mechanics that come at you at high speed. Unavoidable damage is still somewhat low, though it has definitely been increased. Savy players will still manage to dodge stuff thus keeping damage taken to a point where GCD healing isn't warranted, but I was genuinely surpruised at some of the Expert roulette mechanics, not only in bosses but also packs.

until we get more unavoidable damage or cleansing based mechanics we probably won't get much fun for healers. I know most old healer mains want more damage for downtime over more to heal because of how it would work in old content (though lets be real all of the Jobs feel terrible at lower levels so it wouldnt jump out.) but if the devs genuinely don't want more damage and want healers to heal they should just force GCD heals and more button presses outside of mitigation and oGCD heals. Though id argue this would make new players avoid healers just as much as them having damage mechanics.
