I agree with the "easy to play, hard to master" tactic you presented.
However, I feel that the job adjustments in 7.0 intentionally lowered the skill ceiling (even for jobs other than healer), and I have actually seen people in the community lamenting the lack of fun in devising them.
It is easy to imagine that the anger of those healers would be especially great, as they have been ignored by the same requests for some time now.

Keeping the skill floor low for casual healers appears to be successful at present.
On the other hand, I feel you guys are right that the system is inadequate to keep veteran players happy.

I play AST a lot and there have been many times when I really felt like I was chanting Malefic too often.
In the case of AST, maybe it was still better because of the action of dealing cards, but when I played WHM in the same PH, there were long periods of time when nothing really happened and I even doubted my need to fight.
The more I think about it and see it with you all, the more I realize (and remember) that I did indeed have a complaint about the healer.
I guess subconsciously, they were separating that it was for the casual player and that it was inevitable.

How exactly to do this is not clear to me, and this discussion is unlikely to be active in the JP forum, I think.
Anyway, I just hope your voices will be heard by CBU3 and YoshiP.

Don't get me wrong. I don't expect a whole lot will happen in the game, because if people need a healer it's easy to switch or do the Warrior thing.

But I think a topic reaching over 200 likes, 139 pages and more views than the sticky posts in over 10 years of the General forum being around is communicating the point enough that a Warrior doing that in a new dungeon makes healers feel like their role isn't useful, especially when they experience it themselves in a lot of max level dungeons.

I do feel like Astrologian is rather busy compared to other healers. It feels like it has all sorts of attacks, cards to manage, and doing all of that keeps me busy tbh. Comparatively, I sleep when playing as a Scholar.

If you (collective you) want to GCD heal: Remove OGCDs from your hotbars.
If you (collective you) want challenging dungeons, may I introduce you to Criterion?
If you (collective you) want to compare a bunch of top gamers crushing the very first leveling dungeon in an expansion while wearing level 100 AF synced to 92, why?

If you (collective you) want a DPS rotation: Put Glare on 1, Glare on 2, and Glare on 3*

* Dare you to tell me this is somehow better than pressing 1 1 1, potential skill animation variety aside.

This is a silly thread. Everybody is saying "If you just make it how I personally like it, it'll be fixed" and these same people probably never played current AST, never tried optimizing, never spammed mentor roulette in progress. Some of you want dps buttons, some of you want to heal more, some of you want others to heal less; it's a cacophony of disparate ideas bound to be steamrolled in 2 days by the PLL and a week later by Early Access to DT.


Come up with better, clearer concerns for patch 7.2. Queue times are not going to be impacted by this "strike".

People are arguing over the gameplay direction of a video game. There's no need to throw in sociocultural stereotypes.

Honestly, there's no reason to not be polite on these fourms. Remember that the person on the other end of the screen has a different background and different experience from what you had.

It behooves you to phrase your arguments and criticism in ways that will resonate with your audience. This is basic rhetoric.

I am part of the strike, but I do not want to be precieved as loud mouths and children crying over spilt milk. We are well reasoned adults who are escalating the situation by encouraging others who are unsatisfied with the role to stop playing it and join us.
