    Oh, we're supposed to mostly heal? So why is it that in any fight, from dungeon to ultimate, 90%+ of our casts purely damage? Why is most of our healing designed to be covered by tanks or dps self sustain, with only the occasional spot of raidwide damage to think about in the literal hardest fights in the game?

    I gave AST a shot, and it's still miserable to play, even to think about. Worst iteration by far. Praying for 8.0, I guess...

    Hmmmm - your answer makes me doubt you did much healing in the old days. Healer gameplay then was about more than just casting cure and medica. It was the interplay between (1) support actions - virus/eye for an eye etc - (2) actual damage to respond to in dungeons, trials, and raids and (3) healer dps that was so important. We had three different functions in ARR/HW. That’s what I loved about it. Two of those have been taken from us now and there is little left to enjoy.

    And I can assure you. I never left all the healing to the white mage :P

    Also, bring back Cleric Stance :P :P

    Edit: I forgot to mention that encounter design was much more oriented towards giving healers things to do too. We had lots of chances to help squeeze out clutch wins from potential wipes, rather than groups wiping because one person messed up. And there was just much more incidental damage going out that had to be triaged and attended to.

    If we're suppose to focus on healing then make fights that are made for our kits. If you're not going to do that then give us a kit that reflects the current state of the game.

    If you healed feast you were happy that all you had was a debuff dot and a filler move as dps, you barely had time for anything else.

    Thank you for this, genuinely. I'm tired of the players who keep ignoring what this will do. I do not expect the devs to change things, much less quickly. A lot of the people going on about it not mattering fail to realize what will really happen here. I'm also tired of them saying "Go back to WoW" not all of us played the thing so that isn't even a choice for all of us. I'm also tired of people who do the whole "I'm only a healer for queues/coms" they just spit in the face of someone who ACTUALLY wants to do this. We have every right to say no, and like you say substance far outweighs quantity. It doesn't matter if there's 10 people who can TRY and replace me. They will forever be nothing but a lesser fake and will try to dispute that. The ones who are striking, as you said WE CARE. We are here because we WANT to, not out of some stupid impatience problem fixed by being a healer. I mostly hope that players realize what they are doing when they tell us "This game's healers are mad too" or other stuff like that, they need to realize what that says to not only players like myself but to the community as a whole. This isn't going to just effect vets this will turn off people from even trying to pick up a healer because the community has told them we aren't needed.

    With this strike hopefully the community itself will realize why this is a problem and stop attacking us for "over reacting" or whatever nonsense they wanna say about us. This isn't an over reaction, people waited YEARS and we're watching things wither and wither.

    1: Healers need something to do when they aren't healing, the lousy one button dps experience and occasional second just is not enough.
    2: The sustain of the nonhealer jobs has taken our job from us...which has left us nothing to do besides our lousy one button dps experience.
    3: We do not need most of the healing buttons...a lot of those buttons can straight up be removed or consolidated. Which would be a good thing to consolidate using the new sys.
    4: Pure & Shield means nothing and having any combination of the two is just overkill.

    Commenting as I agree with the sentiment.
    I wonder if its possible for someone to clear all the savages and ultimates and both healers, say white mage and sch, never place Medica 3 or succor (wtvr the new name is) on their bar. Why make new abilities we wont press? If every savage has electric floors and crazy tank auto's I will be happy to be wrong.

    I would love to know what expansion this was for. I have been a healer main since I started. I will dps if there is nothing too be healed but I am a healer main to heal. its never been my desire to be a green dps.

    so please, point out when this was that Yoshi and team stated this multiple times because in my experience in this game... that has never been the case.

    Yeah, gonna save leveling my healers for last in DT, at least just for the role quest -- if at all. Healer gameplay needs to be improved.
