Neither does wasting funds on a game that's operating at a loss or barely bringing in any money to keep the game running when they can reallocate those funds somewhere else.

Once FFXIV drops enough, they won't hesitate to put the game on maintenance mode.

It still fair to draw a distinction between unpopular content on too long of a timescale for what it is and actual maintenance mode because 14 is verifiably not in maintenance mode

Healer design feels like it’s in maintenance mode but the game isn’t
