I don't think there is a single person that would say that, or not recognize that the design can improve. At the end of the day, everything can be improved, in general, not just a bunch of classes in a game.

Please give me 1 example of an MMORPG with the healers design both complex, player expression how you like to call it, and enticing people to pick it up from the get-go.

Let's see what you got. (can't wait for people to say WoW..lel)

Edit: You know what I will do you one better. Provide factual, documented, verifiable data of the top 10 (or 5) available MMORPG to play where the role distribution is fairly equal among Tanks, DPS, and Healers. (around 30- 33% of the total player base)

Let's leave complexity aside since it's a bit of a murky ground and based more on individual perception.

So let me get this straight, you want to tell me that out of all the concurrent players, only 5% are main healers, which further means 55k people, are all pissed off right now. Right?

The fact that you read that 5% as literal 5% either means you are basically just another ren style poster who’s rather argue semantics than anyone’s actual point or you just missed the point entirely

Either way I’m not really sure what to say. Who would read that as legitimately meaning 5% exactly. Does the term “1%’er” mean nothing to you

Feels like the strike itself hasn't been particularly relevant since the 3rd month or so of Dawntrail. The reasons behind it, though, will probably remain relevant for far longer than any healer --or those who might need them-- would like.

Putting aside the inability to parse conversational language, a rounded 5% of players happily maining healers across a breadth of content (e.g., not just enjoying them transiently in early Savage prog despite, say, having the ability to do Savage) actually sounds... like a fairly reasonable estimate.

Fewer than 100% of players ever play healers. Of those, less than a relative 100% still play the occasional more casual content, where healers tend to feel at their weakest design-wise, yet also aren't consistently buoyed by the mistakes of their party adding excitement (outside of the control of said healer or their kit). Of those, even fewer actually main healers. And of those, fewer still seem particularly happy to do so.

I am probably close to the middle at the moment. I haven't really entered a proper Savage yet, but I also chime in with a similar Glare spam experience. I have also had times when I did have to do all the healing for a Trial too (HW Hard Titan with the arena drop) and it still cleared. I have a feeling I might still get accused of being both too casual and hardcore at the same time. With all the discussions I did, does that make me an alt for ForsakenRoe? >.>

I am a self-titled "semi-casual", though given my enjoyment of chaotic and recent foray into M1S I may have to reconsider that position. Certainly I don't consider myself anything like hardcore, my mantra for the last two years or so has been "I am not a savage player".
