As a sage main, Same. I won't be healing as a healer, or playing as one.
Healers are a huge joke right now, who needs them when tanks can heal themselves?

Tanks having lots of health or mitigations to tank? No, just give them self-healing abilities. Not even yellow shields to mitigate damage, just unbalanced heals. How unbalanced you might be thinking? Enough to quite literally beat the hardest content in the game without a healer in the party. Yeah--No. That's not right.

Until they help healers, people are going to have to suffer those long, looong queue times looking for a healer. (Not that they would need one anyway).

I do enjoy that when you see someone saying they like the changes and look at their account, they exclusively do MSQ casual content and literally nothing else.

I'm sure those people are the bread and butter of the game's bank account, so probably not compelling to focus on that as much of an argument.

A better one would be to focus on players across all types of activities, including just casual/msq, who would like more interesting healer gameplay.

If it makes you feel any better, I don't do anything other than casual content and I hate the way things have been going. Sage will at least be mildly tolerable, thanks to having Psyche and Eukrasian Dyskrasia to further break up the 111111 spam, but the healing portion of it all is still completely mindless cycling by the looks of it.

Them being synced up timewise is annoying, yes. It's still better than being a dot on a two minute CD though. That and nobody cares in casual content when E.Dosis drops for a few seconds because you lost track of the time in the spam, so nobody's going to care if you just space the two with a couple of casts between either.

It is not ideal by any stretch of the imagination, but at least it will help ever so slightly to alleviate the soulcrushing boredom of excess repetition.

I think their opinions and/or criticisms are valid. I am a casual player, and while I cannot relate to majority of the experiences that has been said throughout this thread, I think input from the other side of the spectrum is just as useful. Just from my experiences as a SCH main in the past, I mainly did the story and duty finder for tomes and such, and I couldn't afford to be bored in that kind of content because the tank would die. I now play DPS primarily cause healing in general became too stressful for me; healer anxiety is a real thing for this reason. Some people enjoy the pressure, and some don't. Some people are great at the game and don't feel the stress me and others have toward healing, and that's okay. So it's only natural that these players want more from the healer role and I can get behind that. I just do not want casuals to feel like they don't have a say in a discussion where it can possibly affect them too, regardless of how they feel about the healer role. This most likely wasn't your intent, but I just wanted get this out in the ether.

I think the disagreements of others is very valid, as long as it's expressed cordially. If someone simply says "I love current healers, so I won't be participating in this", that's fine as a difference of opinion. I think everyone can respect that.

What's not fine is expressing disagreement in the form of "lol lmao, this game isn't for you, quit and go back to WoW". That's an extreme example, granted, but a lot of people have come along and started viciously mocking people in this thread with no provocation, that is the fact of the situation at the moment and it's making the community appear very unpleasant. You can just read through and see how many people call us names and also call us toxic because we're burdening the DPS players with longer queues, all because we choose to not play a role in an MMORPG.

Yeah, I've noticed when I was skimming through the pages. It wouldn't do anyone any favors if the thread gets taken down due to unnecessary hostility.

That's because you're working to actively organize a strike. A strike is a deliberate denial of services/products to those who rely on those services/products in an attempt to get an employer to make concessions to those striking.

In other words, you're going to deliberately negatively impact their game experience as your bargaining chip to try to force SE into giving you something you want that but that does not benefit them.

Did you really expect them to react positively?

That's why I said earlier that a strike is the wrong way to do this. You'll be getting a lot more hostility from the general player base than sympathy if common knowledge of the strike spreads in game and enough players stop queueing as healers to mess with queue times.

It would have been better to approach it as "I just don't enjoy healing anymore so I'm not going to play a healer in Dawntrail". That is relatable. That is something that anyone can get behind because in the end we're all here to have fun playing the game and it makes sense to stop doing things that aren't fun to you.

There's one other problem in deciding to approach this as a strike. Strikes have an end and things go back to normal. Approaching it as a strike is a commitment to returning to healer once SE acknowledges that they've heard you and are considering your feedback.

Healing isn't going to do a 180 this expansion unless SE already has it planned, in which case your strike comes off as spiteful because you were going to get what you want anyway.

When it doesn't change, are you going to be able to get yourself to go back to queueing as a healer despite your extreme dislike for what healing has become?

It won't matter what you say your intent is. The only thing other players are going to care about is the impact it has considering what you want to get out of the strike will not benefit them.

You can tell them that you'll be joining them in queues as tank or DPS but that doesn't mean they'll believe you.

Like, think about it from the context of WoW. That game hasn't EVER experienced a downtrend based on player discontent!
No one in WoW decided to organize a strike.

They just quit the game on their own instead.

I agree that something needs to be done about the state of the healer role in this game.

The strike is not the way to do it. You are not employees nor is SE your employer. SE is still getting your money, they're fine. It's your fellow players that are being inconvenienced as you use them as your primary bargaining chip.
