Where are we on a scale between 1-10 regarding healers? 1 being you don't like the current state of healers but still heal. 10 being you have changed jobs and never healing again.

I'd say I'm a 2.

Maybe a 6? Though I think it's only that high because I'm only playing healer rather casually (mostly just to skip the 1-2 minute wait when queuing on tank instead for Ex roulette, which occurs regardless of AiN being tank) and there's been weirdly a lot of mistakes to help the party recover from in said runs. Granted, the same also raises DRK by an even higher margin, courtesy of TBNing others (from like 7 of "why is DRK still this mess?" to 3 of "well at least TBN is still pretty great" in fed-up-ness on some runs).

Now, if I actually thought my head-canon WHM had any chance of being introduced, it'd probably be ready never to touch a healer again until those reworks come through, but...

Personally I’d say like 3 because I headcanon myself as a supporter playing Scholar

Even though your post was directed as Snarknado, I think you asked a great question. I'll paraphrase it. Where are we on a scale between 1-10 regarding healers? 1 being you don't like the current state of healers but still heal. 10 being you have changed jobs and never healing again.

I'd say I'm a 2. I'm participating in #FFXIVHEALERSTRIKE; but, enjoy being healer enough that I'm leveling white mage to heal friends and FC members.

I think somewhere in middle, I've enjoyed mostly playing more supporting roles in MMOs... Which is why probably my most played Jobs in FF have been healers and Bard... But Square is doing it's absolute best to annihilate that kind of role from the game by having Healers being what they are and Ranged Phys also kinda getting shafted...

Because I do enjoy Healing I will still occasionally play healer, but it's more becoming for the relatively quick queues at this point as most of it just wishing the dungeon would end faster as I cast Glare for the nth time on a boss.
And for harder content, I did try out Vali EX, a lot of the healing there was just packed into very intense short moments like Ruin Foretold.

That Eos dialogue would probably be quite the funny macro to use when using the Seraph fairy shield cooldowns. Wonder how many would laugh with a fairy lighting up a cigarette just before placing her AoE shield up?

In any case, it just sounds like we have differing opinions if the Devs should prioritize higher healing requirements vs. a few more filler DPS buttons. We definitely have several directions suggested from some veterans for DPS rotations.

The healing requirements could receive some band aids temporarily with a couple things. Add more damage pulses like the 93 trial perma DoT with a little less of the vuln stack mech dances. Key word is to reduce the dance but don't eliminate. Add a few mechs that temporarily either boost the power and / or speed of auto attacks to the tank so we actually have reasons to "Cure 2 spam" a little. There could be other times a little more tank busters or forced stacking vuln debuffs could be used as well to encourage tank swaps rather than always using invuln cheesing with one tank.

For my scale rating, I am probably a 1 with still bearing with the boring Glare spam. I alternate playing other classes as an "altoholic". Sometimes, I am a tank for a weekly map party. As a result, I haven't been driven insane to the spam... yet, lol.

OK, but what is point of sying "you don't agree but the game does". What does that really mean? I'm not trying to be difficult, I'm not sure of what your position is, that's all. Nothing you say surprises me, although I would disagree that logging necessitates public comments.

Are you saying "I don't like the approach, but I can deal with it" , or ""I'm kind of frustrated, and one day I'll likely walk away or change jobs"- it's hard to see where you are on a scale of 1-10, let's say where 10 is "I'm out of here, healers needed changes years ago".

I guess I've passed the 10 of your scaling, as I have unsubed (waiting for it to run out) & I'm playing other games. I tried, but in the end I couldn't bear to keep playing 121 for worseningly unskilled players, nor play MNK or GNB with absolutety terrible healers.

But I'd definitely come back for even the slightest rollback on AST, give me EW carding back...

I am a solid 11.

Not only have I changed jobs and am never healing again until the devs wake up and get a clue main is shelved.

Fix the AST card system for the 4th time in a row, properly this time and not the lazy slop you gave us in DT and I'll come back to AST. The other 3 healers aren't worth my time either.

I was at 10, I was fully intending to not heal in DT. But they did make some changes to savage where recovery is very possible again, which was something I wanted, so now I'm at an 8. I just heal for savage weeklies then never again for anything else that week.

Might want to consider the possibility that they have a clue; it's just simply not what you want. You shelve your healing class and someone else picks it up. I hope you're having fun with your new main job (seriously), just like other people are having fun playing healers. But straight up insulting the devs because they're not making their game the way you want isn't going to get you anywhere except more frustrated.

Oh wait no they aren’t, because if you are good enough at this game to play anything above DF you don’t play a healer because nobody likes their design and you will probably be replaced in M1 and M4 in a few weeks with more gear anyway

A trinity role designed around babying bad DF players isn’t sustainable in anything above DF and this being the third tier in a row with a massive healer shortage shows the high end community is fed up
