I have not effectively played a healer role, or anything else since mid July. I have maimed WHM for 10+ years now, probably won’t change until retirement.

Healing is what I do but every time I try to come back and try a trial or dungeon, 95% of what I do is dps and not healing.

I want to heal and not dps, is that such a crazy idea? Playing a healer job because I love healing?

Whether you're a healer who wants to have more things to heal, a healer who wants a more involved DPS rotation for downtimes, or somewhere in between...

The 'have a paradigm more similar to Stormblood' seems to be a solution that 'trends healers in the direction you're asking for', despite the two sides of the discussion (more damage options vs more healing to do) being pretty much polar opposites on the spectrum of 'what is the solution that would work the best'

Polar opposites? But we could literally get both. Adding more DPS buttons is not mutually exclusive with designing the fights to require more active healing.

Honestly, I don't think the current healer role design fits anyone's personal job fantasy unless their job fantasy is to be a safety blanket that gets tossed out when people eventually grow up.

I'm starting to wonder if SE should consider some of the ways WoW allowed healers to switch from their pure healer modes to outright DPS monsters. Priest vs. Shadow Priest for example. You pick a mode and your locked for the duration of combat before you can switch.

Ya... don't think SE could handle that on top. I can only imagine the playerbase being even more dissatisfied that they either don't have their full toolkit, have to keep switching, or their co healer refusing to go into heal stance.

you act like i take this serious. I find this forum funny as hell that people are complaining over a youtuber who does ULTIMATE and savage content in a media tour build. They think their job is useless
