Does anyone remember that bit in the patch notes or something how in 7.05, they said they increased the potency of several actions on WHM to keep in line with other healers. Well not sure when they changed but now it says the potency of dia has been increased to keep it in with other healers.

Also whm is lagging behind by a decent amount so I'm thinking whenever patch7.07 or 7.08 comes out, whm and sge are going to be getting a few buffs.

Would've never thought that Dia upfront and Dia ticks counts as separate actions!

That’s functionally just blind faith written in a slightly fancier way and done in a way that’s completely unfalsifiable

The idea that when you see a massive amount of something across many listening posts and we have incomplete data that shows a particular thing you can just push that aside and go “square has more data than us so obviously they know what they are doing” even if stands in opposition to everything we can see. This isn’t necessarily about healers, this could also be about Kaiten, the viper changes or anything else “unpopular” they have done recently

Square enix can and does make mistakes and acting like they always do the right thing because they have more data (that they refuse to show us btw) is just so flawed and can basically be used to quash literally anything. If square came out tomorrow with a change you didn’t like I could just say “lol data, square knows more than you kick rocks”. May as well just delete feedback now since square knows so much

What data? The only data we have is the rivers of green on multiple servers for PF. The savage tier is undertuned af that m4s was cleared without BiS gear in just 2 weeks and content design hasn't changed to warrant the overbloated number of tools healers have at their disposal.

The reality is that healers play like dogshit because there isn't a healer designer on the team so they can't design content with them in mind.

I'm led to believe they saw the population spike during ShB and decided the job changes were in the right direction, then they decided to double down on it from the second spike they got in EW, when really the former was from the pandemic and the latter was the WoW exodus. The story and what gameplay there was left was what gave the game staying power.

I've said before in another thread, they may have the data, but are they parsing the data correctly? Data without feedback is worthless.

You can see pieces of how they parse data by looking at BLU. They consider BLU a success, while in reality, it's interacted with (by the players who do actually interact with it) for like 48 hours after each update it gets to level, learn new actions, and then the absolute vast majority drops it until the next update. A small amount of players continue to use it for the weekly Masked Carnivale challenges, and an incredibly small number use it for doing the raid challenges (source: Morbol acquisition rate is incredibly low even now).

Yet SE considers it a 'success', enough that they're willing to do a second Limited Job, even in the face of all the negative feedback about how 'it sucks to take a fan favourite job from older games, and limit it to 'old content' etc. And that's to say nothing of the fact that, with two Limited Jobs, they'll have to do a BLU update, and also a BST update, where previously it was just a BLU update. So they'll now have twice as much workload in the 'limited jobs' pipeline. I don't think they will be able to keep up, and my prediction is that BLU will stop seeing updates once BST comes out
