Fabulous is a fine response. Also healers conplain they are bored then complain when they need to heal...

Bit mainly the condescending "Don't make your healer mad" and then not healing. You are acting foolish and sabotaging the whole group. Just finish the low level dungeon and block them if they are jerks.

Healing is equally boring because, outside of SCH, the other healers don't really require any real thought behind them. Cure 2, Helios, etc are all flavorless vanilla heals that you don't really have any interaction with, apart from 1-2 skills that buff how much they heal so it's not particularly engaging. After a point, it just becomes more cost effective to forgo healing and rezzing someone that refuses to do mechanics.

I mean, I like to consider things from the other angle.

Like, you’re a dps and the healer is one of those absolutely terrible ones. Spamming Cure exclusively, spamming GlareBroiletc without healing oGCDs, getting hit by AOEs and having to stop and heal themselves or whatever.

The DPS decides to stop attacking. ‘This healer is so bad I’m going to punish them by making them their run take so much longer!’

Doesn’t that seem a little petty? Surely if it’s such a major problem one could just leave? Being frustrated and annoyed in that situation makes perfect sense, but isn’t it just sinking to their level to throw away a portion of your responsibilities within the parties? I mean, assuming having an honest conversation with said healer is out of the question.

Honestly I enjoy having players that are struggling; it actually makes it feel good when I can help them, rather than just going through the entire dungeon with everyone doing everything perfectly.

Not sure what ‘Queen Bee’ complex is exactly, but I think in times when players like this appear it’s better to just do what you can and hope that one day they’ll see the error of their ways (or unsub lol)

There's a difference between taking hits from getting too greedy (it's hard not to with Melee or Caster) vs showing no effort to avoid damage and acting like it's not their responsibility when asked.

I won't blame the healer for returning the disrespect. There's no reason to enable that kind of behavior.

and so the toxic cycle continues. you say there is no reason to enable that behavior but you just said its ok to return disrespect and essentially enable that behavior. are you just a hypocrite? or is it simply bias because they were a healer in this instance. hmmmm makes me wonder.

Nah, there isn't. If you don't heal to "teach" the DPS a lesson, you are not doing your job and should get reported.

If someone dies too much, it's ok to just leave them on the ground.

They're not going to contribute all that much between all their deaths and it's just not worth the MP (if you're not a WHM and can't Thin Air it).

See, I may be alone in this but outside of some extreme situations (I.e someone repeatedly jumps off side of the arena) I don’t think this is ever ‘ok’.

Whether it’s because of skill or connection issues or whatever I don’t think ‘just giving up’ on someone because they hit a certain amount of deaths is ever the right way forward. I mean, I can completely understand doing what you can to help them and they die anyway lol, even healers have their limits. As a Scholar I can’t say I generally have MP issues even when raising unless I get bored and use Seraphism to start spamming Accession ( “you WILL be healed!!!! …and I’ll look ugly as hell doing it”. Though I do meld piety because idk masochism I guess lol.

But still, I feel like even if someone’s doing it to be a ‘troll’, making a conscious decision to refuse to heal them further isn’t going to solve anything, and it isn’t going to ‘teach them’ some sort of lesson. If anything it’s just going to make these players even less likely to be ‘team players’ (i.e “if I die too much healers refuse to raise me why should I do anything to make their life easier?”)

So there absolutely is a case where you just have to give up on them, it's when you have to consider your options.
If I raise this player who died 6 times now, do I run out of MP?
Do I potentially take damage myself because Swiftcast isn't available?
Do I run out of oGCD resources trying to get their health back up, leading to potentially more dead people?
