Alliance Raid I assume?

Not really a great queue for healers since it requires one less tank and one extra dps, and often times has dps as AIN because it requires extra dps. Dungeons, Trials, Normal Raid (duty finder) are better representatives since they have the standardized group composition.

Though I support the strike, I wasn't going to post in this thread as I feel everything has already been said, and I've been doing my part in game by only leveling SGE through PvP. But I had a first hand encounter with the terrible job and boss design first hand and I just need to share.

I just did Vanaspati as my MCH, we had a SCH, RPR, and WAR.

Get to the final boss, he does *that* mechanic, the one where he flies in the air and drops the meteors, the RPR and SCH die, I kms out of instinct. Boss was a little over 50%

Manages to solo kill this synced dungeon boss from half HP without breaking a sweat. Anytime he got low he heals everything back no problem. I don't have a problem with the dude himself, just the job.

I can think of no other piece of media where the berserker warrior type is as good of a healer compared to the actual healers. I get it's a synced dungeon boss, but the fact it's possible in a relevant piece of content is absolute insanity, the healer role should be required in 90% of cases, it makes the job redundant, useless, nothing but a means to let the other jobs queue into a dungeon.

Having bosses do that little damage and tanks healing that much is ridiculous in a MMORPG and would be laughed at by competent game designers. It's better in DT cause it's close to min ilvl, but eventually, it'll devolve into the same stuff where healers are optional.

For God's sake SE, if you're gonna make healers not need to heal, give them some robust DPS tools.

Ah, it's not just synced content. I came here to post this:

I just finished one of the two extra level 100 dungeons you need to unlock to activate Expert Roulette in a healing role. Duty Roulette, so random party members, and tank was a warrior. It was my first time in the dungeon and I died on the final boss at around 70% to a mechanic I didn't recognize. Rather than wipe the fight, the two dps and the tank continued to fight the boss. You can guess where I'm going with this.

Multiple times, the DPS hp dropped very low. The warrior was able to heal them back up to full at least twice, and they successfully downed the boss with all three players' HP almost maxed out. The two dps were a viper and a pictomancer, two classes on the weaker side of self sustain if I understand correctly.

Rest assured that, even at level 100 in the Expert dungeons 1 week into expansion launch, you contribute nothing of value to a run in the duty finder, as it has been since 2019.

And yet- how much longer did that take compared to if you were still alive.

The run was still done in under 15 minutes, so it can't have been a big difference. It was also my first time doing the dungeon, so I have no idea what my average time might otherwise be. If it was just a solo WAR I'm sure it would have taken ages and been very annoying for everyone, but the WAR was also keeping the DPS alive.

What are eveybody's thoughts on the new extreme trials? I have watched some Valigarmanda guides and from the descriptions it sounded like a fair amount of healing but I'm not sure if that's an accurate perception.

I had that happen in a leveling dungeon as well, 97 I think. Healer died at 70% ish, rest of the group just finished it. I don’t think the tank was a WAR either but I might be misremembering that.

Which is EXACTLY what strikers are doing: playing other roles. So I don’t get your point

I agree - healers should just play something else. To express their dissatisfaction with the healer and send a message to the developers.
