You guys, I have no idea where the healer strike is going with this big thread, but the KiraiTenshi person is definitely a troll, spending keyboard energy to reply to them is most likely a waste of time

Well, when you have so many participants in an unmoderated thread, you're going to get a lot of different opinions, not all of them in good faith. /shrug
Wanting healers to be better is all fine and dandy, I started as a WHM and would love to see a more complex version of it someday, but can grumpy strikers please stop queueing as healers and making everything that much worse for everyone? I've wanted to get back into tanking, but it feels like 90% of the time I get a healer who is so fed up with the game and has decided to make it everyone else's problem.
Dear SGE, yes, I am a WAR, but this is the Sunken Temple of Qarn. I don't have the insane self-sustain at this level. Why is the Kardia on you? Stop spamming Eukrasian Prognosis on the DRG, I am literally dying to single pack pulls here, you absolute cretin. Also I saw you using your entire kit to keep yourself alive when I ate shit and died. I am going to scream. Just a crumb of healing I am begging you.
Also, what is this current trend of SCHs not having their fairy out? Does anyone have Esuna on their hotbar? Why are you suddenly wanting to tank as AST? What is the meaning of life? Why do I even exist?

A) how do you know that the healers you ran with were strikers? (b) did you try to help them help YOU? Calling them a "cretin" here is not going to help.Wanting healers to be better is all fine and dandy, I started as a WHM and would love to see a more complex version of it someday, but can grumpy strikers please stop queueing as healers and making everything that much worse for everyone? By the way, when I first started playing as a SCH, I tended to forget to get my fairy out once in a while when I zoned into a dungeon, incidentally it was the tank once who asked me, quite politely, if I had it out. Quite embarrassing, but much appreciated.

Excuse me, but YOUR response is ridiculous. What I clearly said is that it was useless to post here that the people in your party are "cretins". If you encounter behaviour that isn't helping you, you have 4 choices- help the person (if you can) , put up with it, leave, or kick them.
Personally I would prefer to try to help someone before choosing the other options, as I have benefited personally from other players helping me (and I'm sure will do so in future) , but you do you.

That person was a cretin. Why should we coddle griefers like this? It's what results in people playing terribly and no one being able to say a thing about it. Sorry not sorry.Excuse me, but YOUR response is ridiculous. What I clearly said is that it was useless to post here that the people in your party are "cretins". I agree with this sentiment, I always try to help players before any other option, I haven't run into griefer healers at all and I main tank, I ran into a couple salty ones because they couldn't heal me during a dungeon because warrior OP but that's about it.Excuse me, but YOUR response is ridiculous. first, sorry you experienced that.Wanting healers to be better is all fine and dandy, I started as a WHM and would love to see a more complex version of it someday, but can grumpy strikers please stop queueing as healers and making everything that much worse for everyone? second, I doubt the people you get are strikers, as we have generally decided to just stop healing for group content.
I have had Esuna on my bars since I got it at level 10. I even still have Repose and thats as useless as it gets for a skill. If I run SCH, Eos is the first thing I do. I am fed up with their(SE) direction on healers, if I were to do group content, I dont take that out on my fellow players because, I love healing, its why I have been one for so long in every game I play. if I have a job, I do it, plain and simple. level 20 or 100, tank or dps, I am there to keep you up and in the fight.
I have always disliked people who "heal" just for the faster queues. in my mind, they are not healers, they are opportunists, especially if they cannot do the role that they signed up with.
I apologize for the existence of these types, but I REFUSE to take responsibility for them. thats their failure.... not mine, nor, as far as I am aware without knowing who they were, the responsibility of any healers actually participating

A.) I don't, but how do you know they were not? B.) What I wrote was not a hyperbole and it definitely wasn't someone new trying to figure out how to play, it was 100% intentional griefing. What can I even do there to help them to help me?
And you shouldn't take responsibility for their actions! It's all good, there are plenty of cool healers out there. I try my best to do all I can when I queue as one. It's just a shame that there is a section of players who would intentionally make simple runs that much more difficult, be it under the guise of the strike or not.
