Just a reminder everybody to please be civil.
If we want change don't insult the development team; debate people without resorting to insults and ad hominem when someone disagrees with healers changes even if they're being unreasonable. I urge you to just ignore them. I know it might be hard but I think we need to do things peacefully so the devs listen to our healer players.

I'd guess they're talking about the experience of your typical, average player playing with other typical, average players. For example, I heal through the daily roulettes, and my standard experience involves having to be on my toes to keep tanks alive (and occasionally DPS who seem to be doing everything possible to die). What a streamer who's a veteran at the game is capable of doing doesn't necessarily mean anything for what the typical player will experience.

Indeed? Yes, it’s easy to brush Xeno off, and I can understand why, but ignoring this potential issue won’t do us any favors. If anything, this worries me because we might heal less in DT. With the exception of DRK, Tanks need to have their sustain / mitigation abilities nerfed. It also doesn't help that some DPS Jobs are getting some useful healing abilities in DT like MNK and Pictomancer.

I like what I see in DT WHM and SGE. But there is still room for improvement. Especially, in normal content. We need dungeons like the Vault and Towet of Zot at max level.

Truth be told, I’ve only had one attempt at healing in Savage. That was back 5.4 (ES8). Never played another Savage fight again as I did quit the game for over a year. I would like to attempt higher level fights again in the future, but I want to see my favorite role improve first.

From my own experience in Endwalker, I can say the healer design is in a very bad state:

1- I have a group of friends to run roulettes with. We never bring a healer, 3 dps and a WAR can clear any dungeon easily and it's way faster and actually more fun

2- When Endwalker released, I did a lot of the Hydaelyn EX farming with 5 dps and 1 healer, because 1 healer was enough and the recelars were faster

3- I had my first experience myself healing in Anabaseios, I was SGE and the first hours were actually really fun because I was learning my kit alongside the fights, but by the time we finished 4th floor my gameplay downgraded do spamming Dosis and oGCD healing here and there. When we finished our farm after 10 weeks I was bored to death and decided to never again play as healer in savage.

Yes. Can’t really add any more perspectives or points of view that haven’t been said, beaten down and reiterated in 45 pages here or in a hundred threads in the healer forums. I’ll level healers but I’m not quite sure I want to do any serious content on a role that is the butt of a 10-year old joke.

Xeno did make a video covering every role except healer for DT, so you are certainly correct for the most part, but there are some pretty big Youtubers who do cover healers. Also, no healers means queue times are going to be absolutely fucking ABYSMAL. This is why I feel so confident in the strike; you get value when you become something the community can't ignore.

If a healer unsubs and quits, that's just a -1 to healers in queue. But if a healer chooses to play another role, that's a -1 to the healers in queue AND a +1 to tank/DPS. We're actually going to be lengthening the queues for everyone else, and every healer that chooses to abandon the role will also increase the queues further.

I'm surprised at how tame this healer protest is even considering how people already don't mind hurting themselves by manually queueing as a DPS or a tank in DF to lengthen the queues.

I'll finally respond to this comment in particular.

The official forums is not the tool being used to reach the dev team. These efforts have already failed over the course of many years. It would be futile to try to reach out to them further in this regard. Instead, the forums are being used to rally those into the #FFXIVHEALERSTRIKE protest, which isn't taking place on the forums; it's taking place in the actual game. In this manner, it has worked quite well... or at least we will see when the strike is officially underway at the expansion launch in July.

If enough healers actually do leave group content to the point that it affects American/EU/AU servers, the Japanese community wouldn't even be needed but it would also be the best way to get their attention. Again though, it isn't very pragmatic to expect drastic changes to take place immediately, or even in the near future. The main purpose of all this is to let healer mains know that they do matter, because the direction the game has went has made them feel redundant. Anyone who has at least one good bone in their body know this treatment is not right or ok.
