It’s like watching a car accident. Like you know you shouldn’t keep starring but you still do until the car that beat the snoot out of the tank because he and the healer didn’t do anything for self preservation drives up to you and does the same.

until we get more unavoidable damage or cleansing based mechanics we probably won't get much fun for healers. I know most old healer mains want more damage for downtime over more to heal because of how it would work in old content (though lets be real all of the Jobs feel terrible at lower levels so it wouldnt jump out.) but if the devs genuinely don't want more damage and want healers to heal they should just force GCD heals and more button presses outside of mitigation and oGCD heals. Though id argue this would make new players avoid healers just as much as them having damage mechanics. It does genuinely seem that there was an attempt to design more frantic fights with plenty of avoidable mechanics that come at you at high speed. Unavoidable damage is still somewhat low, though it has definitely been increased. Savy players will still manage to dodge stuff thus keeping damage taken to a point where GCD healing isn't warranted, but I was genuinely surpruised at some of the Expert roulette mechanics, not only in bosses but also packs.
We still broiling though, even if the frantic pace of the dungeons and bosses does make the general experience more exciting.

Bard is really fun to play! :3
I am actually enjoying the game who would've thunk it that me playing healers in this game have sapped away my enjoyment. Mind you, it is because they are poorly designed. I enjoy the responsibility it entails even if it means me messing up has consequences (Unless it is a poorly preforming drk or the rare tanks I somehow managed to run into once every 2 months in gear that is basically min ilvl or at ilvl or in gatherer/crafter gear (has happened once)... healers don't exactly have much responsibility in this game). Malefic spam just isn't fun. Bard, on the other hand, while it has a main attack button the procs more than make up for it. I also like some of the passive supportive capabilities I get from a group mit to enhancing heals. Though I sure would enjoy if brd got some other support like AoE DoTs, or some other support stuff bards could do in other FF games. The small esuna bard has is a nice thought for me to use, especially in a pinch.
I love the men in this game
I finally return to the game! Current goal: getting all my jobs to 90

Considering the inbuilt bias to show 'tank in need' for things, this paints quite a picture. I had a 25min wait for EX roulette earlier today, and spend about 35-40min waiting for the final level 100 trial (both as a DPS)

Didn't people talk about this earlier, how the DF isn't actually accurate when someone posted a pic when there was pretty much only tank job showing up?
Like I've had instant queues when I was a DPS in a queue where healer and/or tanks were showing.

Yes, as I said, the system has a bias towards showing tanks first. Like how previously, before fixing it, the PVP queue would fill Maelstrom first (so premades would get put on Mael, leading to the perception that Mael wins at PVP more than other teams. The point is, if healers are showing in need for things despite this bias towards tanks, then the healer 'need' is actually really big

I wouldn't say "Really big" personally.Yes, as I said, the system has a bias towards showing tanks first. I have to wait pretty much the same time for roulettes as before, Even with 2 new DPS jobs and a healer strike.
But I guess the experience might differ from servers / data centers.

During a working day, yeah.
It's not affected at all at night nor is it an6 different before all this started.

My personal anecdotal experience usually involves:Yes, as I said, the system has a bias towards showing tanks first. By the time a player sees any icon at all when they open DF, chances are good that it's been on-going for good amount of minutes (and thus have likely taken in the appropriate amount of needed role as well).
- Seeing tank in need but insta queue on healer 8 out of 10 times
- Seeing healer in need but about 1 out of 3 times I actually have to wait. Usually no insta queue on two other role if I try to switch around.
"Outside obvious jokes/sarcasm, I aim to convey my words to the future readers who may come across mine posts. Can I change -your- mind, somehow? Potentially... but that's not why I'm writing. You and I have wrote our piece(s). We don't necessarily need to change each other's mind. But we can change other's."

But are people REALLY queuing just for the In Need bonus? Seems like that is just something you get by accident when you queue up for your own reasons. Especially this early in the expansion when people only have one role leveled and so can't easily switch. My personal anecdotal experience usually involves:If I have to make a wild guess, it's because the UI takes 6969 years to update.
