they could do a lot of fun things with Sage if they moved away from "Scholar but streamlined"

In 5 days no one will remember this strike
conspiracy theory time, I think the reason why the barrier/pure healer split happened was just so they could make sage a simplified scholar then completely bloat scholar like they have been doing to make people want a complete remake of the job like summoner.
First of all, this has been happening since the SHADOWBRINGERS job trailer five years ago. I don't know how it took you so long to come to your senses.
SCH became BROIL spam like WHT, and Eos became dumb and unresponsive. Miasma III, Shadowflare, and Bane were replaced with (FOR GOD'S SAKE) ART OF WAR, Jesus Christ, a PvP action. (Sorry for the bad word.)
Healer classes are losing their identity, becoming all the same.
Another thing is: we don't need 20 healing skills if we don't use them most of the time. Even in Extreme Trials and Savage, we spam BROIL and GLARE 90% of the time, hoping that my co-healer dies or something goes wrong to be needed.
In XIV, healers spend most of their time (around 80%) doing DAMAGE, and we have just one skill for that. THIS IS TOO BORING.
Yoshida-san said, "Want a challenge? Go play Ultimate," but Ultimate is less than 1% of the game. So for the other 99%, do we have to feel bored playing it?
We want to have FUN even in moments when we don't need to heal!
And here I leave my plea:
I'd rather press five buttons on my controller or keyboard and do the same damage than just press a single button all the time.
The OP has links to two threads that are a couple of years old that analyse in-depth why people are dissatisfied with healers. It's right at the top. We know it's not new.
Yoshi p said play ultimate 99% and other content 1% so you will have funFirst of all, this has been happening since the SHADOWBRINGERS job trailer five years ago. I don't know how it took you so long to come to your senses.

Healing Criterion sounds more fun than healing an ultimate to me
I genuinely think they're still mad about the ACN split and are trying to push people away from SCH towards the new SGE,
I have no other justification for Seraphism.
personally i find soloing variants to be more fun than most content these days, but then again my favorite thing to do is ARR hard mode dungeons MiNe just to watch a tank learn the meaning of hubris live when the mobs actually hit for 10-30% health on a regular basis.
