This is directly from your "manifesto": "Players supporting the strike wish to hold the development team and Square Enix accountable on their promise to provide a fulfilling and enjoyable experience for everyone."
It's mind-boggling that people would participate in the strike without even knowing what it's about. The entire goal is to encourage the dev team to make fundamental changes to the game. Unless, of course, that's all a sham and the real reason is to just make yourselves the center of attention when you could just as easily simply choose not to play a healer role?
I don't see it as a "cog in the wheel" or a "service". Straight up - I enjoy healing in this game. (For the record, I've always considered myself a DPS/RDM main, but most of the time I'm queuing for roulettes it's always been as a healer.)There is no losing here. You may not be supporting the strike by queueing as a healer, but you are making it more comfy for an ex-healer to main a different role by taking their place as the cog in the wheel.
So I hope you continue having fun as a healer so I can continue to have fast DPS queues, thank you for your service.
I suppose to some extent this might be true for some of us. The whole "strike" thing comes off as a diva complex to me, with people wanting to be the center of attention, blatantly insulting the developers for daring to make their game the way they choose, ganging up on anyone here who opposes them...it is kinda nice karma seeing the whole thing fall flat.Again, it just comes off like anti-strikers threatening ex-healers with a good time and they don't seem to be grasping that, but instead keep trying to twist it into some kind of "own" on the ex-healers, lol.
Glad to hear you're having a lot of fun with PCT! I think this comment I'm quoting sums up a fair part of the issue - look at how dismissive and condescending the rest of it is, trying to objectively declare a different role "boring as hell" that people can play "for whatever reason". It would go a long way for those supporting the strike to simply acknowledge their take is their own personal opinion, rather than having to attack or insult anyone who dares to have fun playing a healer. Why would I set there a waste my time spamming 1111111 and letting someone else play PCT when i just let the contrarians do the boring as hell healer and let me play PCT
So yeah if you still wanna play healer for whatever reason I hope you enjoy it, and m having a blast on PCT
The queues have nothing to do with the "strike." We have an expansion that just started with 2 new DPS roles that a ton of people are playing. The last time SE released 2 DPS roles, there wasn't a strike, and there's posts someone dug up the other day showing that several months into that expansion, queues were still excessive for DPS.Hard for me to tell if the queues are because of the strike or because its Dynamis and we are trapped. Still supporting you guys though.

Striker I am for the 1029591069286026020692471 time begging you to not take every single sentence as an attack on everyone else
“Boring as hell healer role” “if you still want want to play healer for whatever reason”
That’s my opinion, I didn’t write that as an “attack” on people who still like healers, you’ve desperately got to calm down on this front
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
I eventually gave up and put them on ignore, at this point they're being deliberately obtuse and obnoxious that I just assume they're trolling the thread now.

Worth noting as well that regardless of queue times, it's still objectively true that the number of people playing healer would have dropped. Sure, "contented" healers are still there, but we know ex-healers have walked away from the role, versus having no idea how many of the called "new" healers actually stepped up or were all bluster (especially so given how many of those particular folks had no healers close to 90 or even unlocked, lol). Admittedly the total amount of healers actively queuing/playing is a metric only Square-Enix can see, but they *will* see it, for better or worse.
I don't think not having a healer at 90 is a good enough reason to discount someone as long as they have leveled some on the healer. I have NOTHING at 90 despite playing over 5 years. My highest healer is in the 70's I think. Stopped playing it.
Also not everyone posts on their main character. When I started posting on the forums Myrany here was my main. As of last expansion that changed but rather than muddy waters about who I am by posting on a different character I just stuck with Myrany.

You can twist and bend all the words Gemina has written or written by other ppl who have already answered to you.
At the end of the day, strikers are just switching job like anybody would do when an expansion is released.
If you're not happy, we don't care. Deal with it.

Devs change things all the time. If everything in the game is desgined the way it is to appeal the preference of "majority", there's no need to change anything in the game. You shouldn't add new content because people like the game the way it is. You shouldn't add new jobs because people like the game the way it is. You shouldn't balance skill potency because people like the game the way it is. You shouldn't rework and redesign jobs such as SMN and MNK because beople like the game the way it is. You shouldn't implement graphical update because people like the game the way it is.
If SE make changes based on the feedback, what and whose feedback are they listening to? The silent majority? but the moment they speak up, they no longer respresent "silent" majority. Who's to say the one spoke up actually represent the unanimous opinions?
The official way to leave feedback is through the forum, which you seemed to despise.
You seemed rather attached to this thread which is considered "insignificant" , "don't matter." You made more replies here than many people supporting the strike. Talk about being the center of attention.
Pretty sure you'll still like healing even if SE make drastic changes to healers based on forum feedback, because, to you, any changes are made by the opinions of the majority. You will heed the power of the majority and you will like it.
Compared to the amount of people jumping in this thread leaving dismissive comments full of ridicule without the courtesy even read the OP, I'd say people supporting the strike is usually the receiving end of toxic behavior.
LMAO HEALER STRIKE
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
I'll just sell healer queues for 50k a spot. np!LOL please, This is NOT a combat focused MMO, it's Story-driven and boy I have been playing this game A LOT longer than you so yes, you are the pathetic one, I'm a day 1 1.0 player]Yeah you guys wanna be omni makes. Dps, tank and healer all rolled into 1 package. Seems legit.im laughingBut I'm all for you guys being on a strike. Please be on strike forever. And getting people like me to slither out from the rocks we live under like snakes to point and laugh at you all for doing this isn't really 'success']Lol I'm actually amused this is still going on. Go on "strike". You pretty expendable and we got healers everywhere.ok so play harder content would be the answer to that.I never imagined that FFXIV would have so many individuals with questionable behavior and morals playing. Some of you tarnish its reputation for being a friendly and nurturing environment. Shame on you for lacking basic empathy. With people like some of those who support this movement, it is doomed. This should be regarded as a scandal.I don't see any problems in saying something is boring. You seemed to take it as personal attacks or something.Y'all could have used that time spent protesting for something important like Palestine instead. Just saying.
By the way, every point you're trying to make is your own personal opinion as well. Yours is not objective fact. Yours does not represent the voice of the majority.
You keep avoiding many objective facts provided, while dismissing many points made as personal opinions. We have logs from high end content to normal dungeons, from casual player to hardcore elite players, from player skill usage to enemy casts, from incoming damage inflicted by mechanics, to mitigation distribution. All those data fit the definition of objective facts. People back their argument with solid data, while you have none.

PCT is fantastically well designed class (so well designed I’m surprised it’s in modern 14)
Why would I set there a waste my time spamming 1111111 and letting someone else play PCT when i just let the contrarians do the boring as hell healer and let me play PCT

The best part about Picto is that, other than the burst window and keeping some stuff on cd, there's no rotation. You can mix and match to suit what's needed.
It's actually a lot like a light version of EW BLM- like, a bit more flexible and easier because you have no dot to manage and no Polyglot clock/AF timer, but it actually is quite enjoyable to play as.
So yea, try that instead of playing healer![]()
