isn't a ratio when a reply gets more likes than the original post?

Generating discussion isn't some kind of epic own, most people that liked the post probably also commented at least once even just a "I support the strike"

yes, that is what "getting ratio'd" in the current slang is generally understood to mean

ex:
OP: Cheese on Apple Pie is gross (12 likes)
Reply: Someone is afraid of living, probably doesn't dip their pineapple pizza in ranch either (4000 likes)

So for the OP of this topic to have been ratio'd there would need to be a reply countering the OP with more likes... but ehhhhhhh... Typical strat of ppl that are wrong, try to change the meanings of terms/definitions to move the goalpost

It turns out that when the dev team dumbs down a role, dummies make up more of the role's population. Dummies are attracted to the role because it becomes a ticket to getting carried through fights, and skilled players abandon the role because they don't want to be carried. The resulting poor performance is then used by dummies and non-healers to clamor for further dumbing down in a never-ending ouroboros of stupidity.

This has been an issue for a while. people joining the roulettes etc as "green dps" for quick pops. something which I imagine will get even worse in DT. so, I agree... the roulette aspect is really if dps and tanks are going to get anyone competent. as long as the healer jobs are designed for the lowest common denominator, chances are, thats what they will get.

I understand the push back, but thats the whole reason for this, a bit more engagement so competent healers stay as healers. however, as long as SE keeps doubling down on this direction... I do not see that happening, which means everyone suffers more until the healing role is just a part of the games history.

I agree actually but this sort of thing really could be part of the reason there is so much pushback to the strike. There is a fairly common perception I am seeing being muttered about in game. Some DPS players that have little sympathy with the healers situation since they don't perceive many healers as doing their role as it is.

Before I get attacked I have repeatedly in this thread supported you guys and the strike. I still do. I am just reporting what I am hearing in game and trying to do it in a civil manner.

as I said previously, I think that perception because many now use the healer role for insta pop queues since it is dumbed down so much. there is no need or place for healers to be responsible and now mostly used for queue times and getting out of there as soon as possible with as little effort as possible. its a really sad state and a direct result of job direction and encounter design.

I have never asked for dumbing down healers. I have supported your efforts in this thread. Simply commented on how sad it is that things have come to this point.

Trust me I understand the amount of hate that comes from being dumbed down. I played summoner before all the big changes and loved it. Now I rarely touch it. Getting your class gutted is never fun. Being ignored by the devs for years after the gutting is worse.

"room temperature" might be very generous on the part of who the dev's are designing for.

The player part of the problem is an elitist mentality that a DPS should never get hit by something avoidable, which is just toxic elitism on the part of the healer.

How is this elitist? Of course you should expect players not to "stand in the fire". In the same way you should expect healers to heal, tanks to grab aggro and DPS to deal enough DPS to kill things reasonably quick (Even though in dungeons there are really no limits.)

If you're talking about healers refusing to heal people that got hit with a vuln stack, it's basically the same player issue: Someone refusing to play the game.

Which should not be the thing you design classes around. Should we remove all player agency and automate everything so that people cannot avoid playing their role? I'm not defending people that do not play their role, I'm saying Jobs will inevitably lose engagement if you design them without risk-reward.

That is not what a ratio is. At least not the modern social media term the way you're trying to use it. That's typically used to refer to the same metrics i.e a post that gets more likes than the one it is replying to.

I think we should separate mistakes from deliberate refusals to play.

Someone can take aoes and even die several times that's totally expected.

But I don't think that not expecting them to not even try to do mechanics because they're busy watching Netflix is elitism. And sadly, the game design seems to be aimed toward those "players".
