Oh, i wasn't saying the whole movement is pointless, it has some merits in making the game better. I'll end with this:I have not posted in a while, but wanted to come out to reiterate a certain point. I meant it when I said the strike is not meant to disrupt the game, and is entirely a peaceful protest. We are not a group of malicious, bitter, spiteful healers desiring to inflict suffering on the community. The success of the strike is not contingent on players being locked out of duties due to a lack of available healers. It is understood that there is a possibility that this can happen, especially considering that this is a +2 new DPS jobs expansion, healers are already in short supply, and duty support is rather limited especially when it comes to player's reliance on the duty finder having the game group for them using an automated system, and roulette rewards having a criteria that includes strict role requirements. Queue times are going to be rough at the start with or without the healer strike if you are a DPS player. The healers on strike are in the same boat and will be using DPS and Tank jobs in Dawntrail, and are also reliant on healers if they want to use the duty finder and Party Finder features.
We are just simply done, and have lost a lot of desire and enjoyment in playing the healer role. Dropping it for an undisclosed amount of time is done with heavy hearts, I assure you. I wil also point out that we don't desire for other roles to be made less fun, and to join us in misery. We want the game to be fun for everyone, and feel that not enough alternatives have been explored to do so. Shirking responsibilities from one role to another and over simplification in both job design and encounter design are most definitely not the answers to circumventing these issues. We understand it is a desperate move, but we have exhausted everything else to try and reach this dev team.
I have found a new love in DNC, and you will find me maining this job in DT. I hope and pray everyone is doing well, and will enjoy the new expansion.
"Bring back the holy trinity, Let healers heal, Tanks tank and DPS.. well do what they always been doing lol"

EXCEPT dragoon... they spend so much time on the floor, their cleaning bills must be astronomical!

Yeah I think a lot of people misunderstand that this strike is not attempting to disrupt the game.
With how much traction this topic has garnered across social media, I would be surprised if the devs were not aware at this point. I understand balancing the game to be accessible for beginners and engaging for veterans isn't an easy ask, but I have faith the devs will do their best to strive to please the fans of this wonderful game.

Probably because Strikes are actually designed to be disruptive, so there is odd messaging to call for a strike specifically but state it's not seeking disruption.
Strikes are inherently supposed to be disruptive, as if striking employees do not disrupt the employer's operations in any way it will have no effect whatsoever. In fact, if that happend they'd probably only show that their jobs aren't needed at all and later have them downsized lol.

Strike here is likely being used more in line with a "hunger strike"- strike as a form of protest (much like a hunger strike isn't disruptive to anyone but oneself and our collective social morality).Probably because Strikes are actually designed to be disruptive, so there is odd messaging to call for a strike specifically but state it's not seeking disruption.

I've never heard this one before in this thread. I'm glad you felt the urge to post this :>I'm not gonna strike, but if y'all do that it will make the queues pop even faster for me because of less healers, & I'm a healer main. So win for me I guess? I'm on Dynamis so it isn't always an instant pop as healer as often as it is on more populated data centers.

Dyanmis would have fast ques if everyone stayed on your data center, instead of just buying a house and then going back to Crystal to do all your gameplayI'm not gonna strike, but if y'all do that it will make the queues pop even faster for me because of less healers, & I'm a healer main. Sadly, we're all trapped now due to the expansion lockdown, where people from Aether/Primal/Crystal can travel over, but people from Dynamis *must* stay on Dynamis.
I doubt it'll improve duty finder queues though, I know I'm certainly not going to bother queuing during the lockdown as I've got other things I could be doing than waiting 30+ minutes for 4-man content to pop.
Guess you haven't queued in a while. They've been popping pretty quickly (except for FL and AR sometimes) for a little while now. They'll be popping pretty quickly during the lockdown as well.Sadly, we're all trapped now due to the expansion lockdown, where people from Aether/Primal/Crystal can travel over, but people from Dynamis *must* stay on Dynamis.

No, I have not, as I learned pretty early on that queues were bad and I needed to DC hop to get any roulettes done. With that having been the norm for the year and a half I've been playing, I find it difficult to believe that it's not an issue anymore, and at this point I actually feel kinda... adverse to the idea of playing with anyone else from Dynamis because I don't feel any sense of community or connection with my data center or even server. This is just the place I got stuck on (twice now).
Though it's probably moot anyway, I only main DPS and we just got two new ones, then there's going to be all of the ex-healers jumping on DPS as well, so I'm probably still better off focusing on other venues of earning XP on my own.
