All this does is teach new healers that you better exploit that freecure proc you got from the damage spell since it's glowy and shiny. Instead of curebots you'll just get people who do the rotation Stone -> Cure II -> Stone -> Cure II -> Stone -> Cure II.I believe the idea is a low level design aspect
If you can show people that doing damage provides positive outcomes to their healing (free cure 2’s) then it would encourage new people to do damage during downtime rather than spam cure 1
I dont think it was ever meant as a useful skill above 50
I know people are all going to jump up and say "but that's better than spamming Cure 1!"
No, because you have still fundamentally not taught them how to become a good healer. Good healing is not about doing damage. Good healing is about learning to use your resources as efficiently as possible. Giving free Cure II is literally the exact opposite of that. You are encouraging them with a shiny dotted lines glowing around Cure II to use something that they do not need to use at all. You're incentivizing wasteful usage of a key resource - the GCD.
The blight that has been unleashed on the healing community back in Stormblood is the idea that the primary skill to acquire as a top healer is the ability to do damage. That is completely wrong. The primary skill to acquire is to intuitively understand damage patterns and have a good sense of where to use what healing tools. Your damage then naturally follows as long as you ABC. You optimize damage on healer by focusing on healing efficiency.
Of course, in EW this probably barely matters anymore since they gutted the entire role so much.

I found it on my own by coming to the forums, as I do with all threads I comment on. I don't follow a single streamer/creator whatever you call them. I also never said that people were asked why they unsubbed, I said to do so and provide the feedback as to why. That means contact support to provide feedback. The stats regarding the relic are nothing of value, that's correct. However if 500k players in NA swapped their main from healer to anything else, they would notice that and wouldn't wonder why, because people would have provided the feedback the proper channels, in the proper manner, as i stated. PUlling a childish tantrum on the forum and going "on strike" is not the proper manner. The stats tell them genuinely nothing of value. There is no step in the process of unsubbing where you are asked why you unsub. Feedback is all they have and healers have been posting feedback for years now.
If you dont mind, how have you learned about this thread? Content creator? Friend from the FC? Post on the internet? What was the explanation given? Did they say this is only a response to xeno's media tour dungeon run?

As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

"in-game support-related feedback"
This is like how the "Website Feedback & Suggestions" Forum gets mostly suggestions about the game and not the website.![]()

So let me try to get what you are suggesting healers do.I found it on my own by coming to the forums, as I do with all threads I comment on. You think:
-healers should provide feedback in the proper channels
-stop playing healers so the devs are confronted with low healer rates and will then connect it with the feedback from the proper channels
Did I get that right?

I don't think the main issue why people come here and share their opinions as to why this might be "useless" is because people post feedback.
It's that people are calling for a Strike since feedback hasn't been adressed.
Which honestly should never be taken as granted.
Someone mentioned earlier how Yoshi had mentioned about Healer feedbacks in 2021, and someone else managed to find what I think might be just that.
So I'm simply gonna post a quote to the post with the link.
This indicated that (at least) up to 2021 Yoshi has been aware of Healers and their feedback but they just didn't think that those changes were needed for their vision of the jobs role.
So they haven't ignored feedback for 5+ years, as some have brought up.
And I'm sure they have seen feedback post 2021 as well and most likely still not seen those as needed.

You have a very good point. It would only work at the very low levels and probably also teach bad habits, just different ones. You don't want to be using Cure II, and definitely not Benefic II. You are just substituting one "noob trap" for another.
Putting them on the damage filler is also equivalent to just upgrading Ben 2 and Cure 2 straight up. You're going to get the proc nearly every GCD? What's the point? Under what scenario are you going to make the conscious decision to use Glare just so you can proc Freecure??
You got it completely wrong. So let me try to get what you are suggesting healers do.

They are suggesting that we follow him as a role model and start
Sadly none of us are as saintly as him so we're going to find it rather hard to muster up the maturity and level-headedness to follow in his footsteps.PUlling a childish tantrum
