I'd be bored out of my mind too if I didn't do anything beyond healing and being terminally online in Limsa Lominsa. No one ever told you you have to make this game your job.
Go take a break from healing and do something else in game. Outside Limsa.

I had a beta account for ps3. I lost the log in for that YEARS ago. I don't even remember what email I used or what my character's name even was back then.
I mean maybe if they made it the most difficult thing ever, perhaps...but I think the real reason a player base disbands is because there are just not enough players/content to satiate the players in the game. This has been seen in many an mmo; when there are no longer the people there that want to do "X", "X" looks less interesting to newcomers who want to do "X" because there isn't any communal excitement behind it, and therefore "X" becomes obsolete leading the newcomers to quit. The problem is Mr Flower that if we make the easiest content in the game challenging enough to force the casual playerbase to learn how their characters work and actually play the game properly, they'll just cry and leave instead of actually challenging themselves. It happens EVERY TIME ANY GAME DOES THIS. I'm not saying I think healers should only have a challenge in harder content, I'm saying its not possible if square wants to keep a playerbase.

#FFXIVHEALERSTRIKE
1: Healers need something to do when they aren't healing, the lousy one button dps experience and occasional second just is not enough.
2: The sustain of the nonhealer jobs has taken our job from us...which has left us nothing to do besides our lousy one button dps experience.
3: We do not need most of the healing buttons...a lot of those buttons can straight up be removed or consolidated. Which would be a good thing to consolidate using the new sys.
4: Pure & Shield means nothing and having any combination of the two is just overkill.

Yeah nah indeed. So let me get this straight:
- Healers should only have engaging healer gameplay in certain niche areas.
- Arguments are only valid if someone's a subjectively "elite" player doing "elite" content.
- There's no need to address the verifiable fact that healers don't focus on healing in the vast majority of content in this game because it's inconvenient.
Yeah, nah.
And for the record I've done all levels of content in this game from ARR to present, but that doesn't matter. This isn't a difficulty issue - it's a design one.
Imagine if Bard only used Heavy Shot, Venomous Bite, and Quick Nock in all content except Savage/EX. That's where we're at.
1) If You make engagin DPS rotation for easier content, high end content must be balanced around healers doing this engaging DPS rotation = even less healing.
2) You don't account sprouts doing sprout content either. So Your arguments as valid as mine (lol).
3) I dunno how verifiable it is. We talk about min ilvl sprouts doing dungeon together for the first time or people like me and You who can run it 4 healers without tank?
You can W2W Tower of Zot and Babil? How's Aurum Vale runs going? Doma Castle pack before first boss?
But I run dungeons with players who used Heavy Shot, Venomous Bite and Quick Nock through all dungeon. They often have this green icon near their name. Your argumnets also doesn't account for people with low skill capacity, so is it still valid? What about accessebility options? For people with less agility to press buttons. I mean who cares they'll struggle in dungeons made for everyone, I wanna have my fun, am I right?
If anything should ask for more demanding content, than job design. Ask for boss doing more DoTs on raid, screw You up everytime, do Heartless Angel type move before raidwide and before Heartless Angel aslso have Raidwide so healers don't be lazy and not heal before mandatory drop to 1 hp. It's not dungeons problem, it's not healer design problem it's lack of harder well designed encounters. And I remind You -- P3S made healers quit!
P.D. You crowd even made "Depicted as Soyjak" analog by putting legit arguments into "Healerstrikebingo" and I must just drop it?
That's what the strike is but apprently talking about doing that is bad

That's a good idea, we should make a forum post about why exactly we're playing a different job too. Call it something catchy with a hashtag like... #ffxivHealersAreQuitting no that's too long...

And there's the gate keeping. So my opinion on a ridiculous strike and pointing out WHY its not going to accomplish what yall think it will because I don't do endgame savage content makes my opinion any less valid? The complaint is healers aren't fun, and here I am saying I find them fun. And so do most healer mains i know, including those of my friends who DO do the hard stuff. Was mostly curious, since according to your lodestone achievements you do not have any on content EW EX (besides relatively recent Endsinger) clears, so yes, i could claim you're too casual, but that's beside point.
Playing the game mostly for the story content is fine. But then why should you care about this strike?
When Dawntrail is released you can go and complete MSQ on Sage, why suddenly come to forums and complaing about the strike, when as you claim it does not concern you and you will continue playing Sage just fine?

Healing was more challenging in ARR and HW casual content but the game was growing. How is that possible? The problem is Mr Flower that if we make the easiest content in the game challenging enough to force the casual playerbase to learn how their characters work and actually play the game properly, they'll just cry and leave instead of actually challenging themselves. It happens EVERY TIME ANY GAME DOES THIS. I'm not saying I think healers should only have a challenge in harder content, I'm saying its not possible if square wants to keep a playerbase.

I mean when I’m healing broil “feels” like 100% but I’m using verifiable data here
The healers are completely out of whack on button contribution compared to the other roles
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
