I think this should be in the OP because it is a perfectly short but accurate response to the "go play harder content" argument that keeps getting brought up again and again and again. It really doesn't and shouldn't matter how much content someone has done as a healer. Healesr should have compelling gameplay at all levels of play. Not just savage/ultimate. In extreme, in dungeons, and even in solo instance duties/leveling quests, healers deserve better than they have right now imo in terms of dps buttons. (They don't need more damage total but could really use more engagement in how they do that damage, without over correcting and giving them f ull dps job rotations.)
1) People who are saying such things are not reading the OP and never will.
2) Let them bring it up again and again and again and get this thread about healer issues to 999 pages, seemingly against their own interests of making this strike seem silly and insignificant and ensuring nothing changes
Who is the "they" you're referring to? I support this strike but I personally don't believe the devs have ever cared about complaints about something not being fun or engaging. The only thing they seem to ever care about and act on are issues that prevent the game from running smoothly and when the status quo is upset. If a situation arose where healers were in such dire need and duties were failing to pop I think the most they would do is add mount incentives like tanks have and then call it a day. But the players have no control over that. In reality there is nothing at stake here. It's more just players in solidarity over this topic with a hashtag that is apparently really triggering people.Saw some websites comment on this and the comments section in them think this is pointless. But then I saw someone mention that they did a sort of similar strike for healers back in shadowbringers but nothing came of it. The thing is if the complaints have been going for years you would imagine they wojld have noticed… so it makes me wonder if they’re truly happy with the direction or this strike is just a very loud minority.

Didn't YoshiP say once that when the people playing healer on the dev team get too good at it they get replaced? I wish I had the quote but I think it was healer specifically. I wonder if that happens for the other roles.

What a strange mindset! Imagine applying that to any other job! "Sorry Mr. Car Mechanic - you're too good at repairing gearboxes, so we're replacing you".
+1 I'll join in the strike as well! I've been a healer main since ARR, and as much as I love this game I've been feeling increasingly disenchanted as a healer, especially after ShB and EW. I want to not feel superfluous in casual content, and I want the gameplay to be fun and engaging and let me feel like a healer.
I'd be bored out of my mind too if I didn't do anything beyond healing and being terminally online in Limsa Lominsa. No one ever told you you have to make this game your job.
Go take a break from healing and do something else in game. Outside Limsa.
That's what the strike is but apprently talking about doing that is bad

That's a good idea, we should make a forum post about why exactly we're playing a different job too. Call it something catchy with a hashtag like... #ffxivHealersAreQuitting no that's too long...
