While I wouldn't consider myself a fan, the bogeyman of general gaming internet himself, Asmongold, has a line that rings pretty true. "Every gaming strike is just one good cinematic away from ending." I highly doubt this movement's going to go anywhere come Dawntrail.Giving a developer money while actively campaigning against their design decisions with no plan if nothing changes come next expac makes this whole seem performative. Its why gamer strikes are considered memes.
I agree with the message and the healer feedback, but not the methodology. Sub if you want, unsub if you want - but going on a full crusade like this while having no "line in the sand" only shows the non-committal nature of it all. We have seen it other MMOs, we'll see it again - I hope I am wrong.

The plan is to switch to another role. Was that not obvious?Giving a developer money while actively campaigning against their design decisions with no plan if nothing changes come next expac makes this whole seem performative. Its why gamer strikes are considered memes.

And they already got some negative publicity from the strike, it's an item on multiple gaming newssites. Companies can (and should) be sensitive to negative sentiment and publicty.
Why do you insist on the need for further escalating a confrontation with SE? I mean, you're perfectly free to follow your own advice. But you seem weirdly pushy to try get other people to do unsub. With the sideeffect that they will stop being paying customers so they lose an important reason for why they can request changes. You're giving of very strong vibes of a high school troll trying a "did you hear what they said about your mom!!" just for the resulting schadenfreude.

DPS being able to kill bosses too quickly is a common complaint actually (ie. the scales you'll never see anymore) and if BLM doing disproportionately high damage was the cause (it's not, it's ilvl) you almost certainly would see nerfs,
damage between jobs is actually the one thing they obsessively balance, I have no idea how this is supposed to be an argument

I've been subbed to the game since late ARR and I've been a support main for all the cooperative games I've played including pushing high m+ in wow. I don't spend a lot of time here on the forums although I read through the healer megathread at the beginning of EW that basically said all the same things. I'd already resolved to move on to a DPS job for Dawntrail because healing is not very engaging with the way the game is designed. It's been an issue ever since they started stripping scholar of all their dps buttons and has only gotten more pronounced.
I wouldn't mind having a simple dps rotation if I was busy healing, but there isn't much requirement for it. I don't play high end content in ff because I mostly come here to relax. I've always said if I want hard content, I have wow for that. Because I don't find the healing engaging, I mostly play the game for story and non battle content. I would love to see healing become more engaging somehow. I'm open to developer experimentation to find out what that looks like.
The one thing that I really liked when I read it was whoever said, "why do tanks have a dps rotation?" Truly, they only need a "get threat" aoe button and single target. Since we've also removed all the threat management in the game, mobs should just do a check for a tank aura and never hit anyone else as long as it's up. Give tanks 50 mitigation buttons and a taunt and a two button damage rotation and see how long before they get mad and go on strike.

I definitely intend to level my first healer of the expansion for raiding through roulettes with friends/WT/FL. Plenty of ways to do it without crossing the picket line, tbh, even without needing to do solo content or anything else.
It's really hilarious how people keep pointing out "well this person didn't do hard content therefore it's invalid" like... my brothers and sisters in Hydaelyn, raiders themselves have expressed their dissatisfaction with savage and ultimate being a snoozefest.
All content -- regardless if it's roulettes, normal trials or raids, or hardest content in the game like ultimates -- should be fun. Period.
Guarantee if a raider had started this thread, everyone and their mother would be like "erm, actually since you're a raider the changes you've proposed are completely out of touch with the casual playerbase and you have no right to force your standards on-" ZZZZZZ
Remember the Go Play Ultimate thread? The one where raiders were the ones complaining most?
Yeah this is the kind of feedback they got.
Speak for ya'll selves, I still get nervous having to heal in content, just because of the nature of healing alone. I think the issue they see if healers get more damage spells for rotations then healers in this game would start to focus more on DPS'ing rather than healing which just....negates the purpose of having a healer in the holy trinity the system was made for. I think we've grown too complacent with the idea that "healers are a dps" job when its in their job description to heal not to deal damage.
This is an extremely BASED opinion on my part though because I'm a controller user andy and having to add more buttons for full on damage rotations alongside your meaty healer toolkit will just overload the cross-bar hotbar setup into a complicated mess.I find it VERY ironic that "go play in DF" was a counter to this complaint. If you want more engaging content as a healer then queue things solo and get matched with random ppl. There's lots of DPS out there that stand in mechanics they shouldn't be, and tanks that think they can mass pull with gear they should have replaced long ago while not using any of their cooldowns... >.>
It never mattered who started it, it's just dismissal. Nothing more.
#FFXIVHEALERSTRIKE
Healers have been neglected for 3 expansions now and this needs to be rectified with the following:
- An engaging DPS kit beyond a nuke and DoT.
- Increased incoming damage so we have more to heal.
- Distinctive playstyles amongst the healers.
- Some nerfs to non-healer heals, we shouldn't be replaceable.

As a raider I can confirm that healers are boring and you shoudln't play them
