To be perfectly blunt, Happy doesn't play healers well. He casts multiple GCDs for every other raid wide and doesn't utilize his kit nearly that efficiently. Basically, he's a decent enough healer but isn't any better than your above average player who casts the pointless Medica IIs or Succors. Which, unsurprisingly, leads to him having something of a biased opinion. I wouldn't put him on any sort of authority.

And I wouldn't say him mouthing off, "the healer strike is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. No one gives a <insert four letter word>" as "pretty decent and reasonable."

what does how well he plays as a healer have anything to do with it? (I at least don't think pointless media IIs lead to that many groups wiping or things going horribly wrong in casual content which his points where about). and of course he has a biased opinion. we all have, it is kind of impossible to not have biased opinion in a topic like that.

and the last part yeah that is the part I meant with it could have been worded less dismissive. So I am a little bit confused why you thought I meant that with "pretty decent and reasonable"

He has been very dismissive of other opinions lately. I used to watch him in the past but not anymore. Far too much "told you so" and so on.
It was the same with the blm changes were he more or less just said "deal with it" in a dismissive tone.
Not to deny his experience with the game, far more then I have but... oh well thats content creators for you.

The funny thing is. Xeno has become less toxic then in the past and is far more on the side of midcore playrs now. He at least says if he thinks stuff is stupid.

How will he get on the media tour list next time if he doesn't parrot the same vein of PR speak like YoshiP?

Its why the idea of only feedback making it to devs being from content creators is a slippery slope , you never know when they'll turn shill just to keep staying on that list. Its just business.

Tbf. Zepla was also invited and she was one of the first with critique about Endwalker.
I don't think Yoshida is against critisism as long as it's in a good and honest tone.

The strike is basically just 'we dont want to play healer anymore, we'll play jobs that are more fun' so for how long this goes isnt really a problem.

I will absolutely be striking for the whole expansion and the next ones too, if healing is not fixed. It was a slow boiling of a frog (=me) since HW and I still played healing jobs from time to time but when I saw the new healing abilities given to tanks and dps for Dawntrail it was the last straw for me. I'm going to get my leveling meta achievement using Wondrous Tales xp on healer jobs and only play the fun jobs from now on.

They did drop the Paladin rework mid-expac but if they don't want to that's fine, I'll just keep playing DPS

I started ARR as WHM and raided coils when it was current and loved it. But I've been effectively doing this "strike" since Stormblood when they tried that gauge fiasco on WHM and I dropped it. I'm sure many others have a similar tale. It's just that people are now talking about it.

Reading this gave me war flashbacks from when a mechanic like this DID exist ( in HW? SB? I just can't remember the name of the ability that did it) and the macro spam and warrior rage to get the esuna was craaaaaazy. Was playing a lot of bard at the time too and since I could esuna aswell I'd be yelled at too if the healer didn't do it LOL. What a time.

You're talking about the Pacification debuff. As a healer I enjoyed that mechanic. I thought it was a fun test of skill to see if I could remove it before it even ticked.

I don't think the solution would be to remove healing from Tanks and support from non-Healers, but rather just give healers more things to do. As they keep giving more oGCDs heals and they keep buffing tank self-heals and as bosses damage gets more centered around just tank busters, it effectively gives Healers more downtime to do something other than heal which isn't inherently a bad thing.
But the problem is that they also have to actually have to give Healers something to do with the downtime, the best we currently have is spamming one spell for 27 seconds.
