For the sake of discussion, let's assume you could get the average player to join in on the strike. If healers truly aren't needed in content, why would a strike even get noticed? Players can pre-form their parties to avoid the Duty Finder role restrictions after all.

If players end up in pre-form parties to avoid the queue times then the situation has become serious enough that the developers would need to take action as you cannot ignore the issue anymore. Now it's an issue that effects ALL roles instead of just healer. So even if you run content without healers it's a massive neon sign for all to see.

If you don't need to heal then you can focus in other tasks like dpsing or using emotes , type moral support or watch a movie or something in YT, no other job allows you to do it.

Go do other things during the break periods has now become “do other things while playing the game”

I disagree that it's high end healers that want changes to healer. I think the vast majority of players could arguably survive without one, in casual content, after their first time playing the content. And that's a problem when the game is predicated around repeating content over and over for 2+ years.

In other words, it's casual healers, mid core healers, and high end healers.

I hope this takes off. Of course there are always going to be people who run healer, but here's hoping some DPS get unbearably long queue times, tries swapping to healer, and realizes for themselves how terribly boring it is.
