sure, and SE would address it by giving better self heals to tanks and DPS... we know how SE works. they would do ANYTHING else rather than address the healer issue.
Everyone, forget the roulette and use party finder. Make 1 tank, 3 dps the norm! You'll be more challenged, clear faster, and uhh... send a message or something...
The removal of enmity was the biggest mistake for the battle system. You'd always have a chance of a stray mob and needed a heal or two. Now it's just sad.
So apparently, according to one of Yoshi P’s interviews regarding Samurai and Kaiten, he sort of implied that combat encounter changes aren’t really going into effect till 7.2? I’m not sure if I’m understanding his wording correctly…
"From 7.2, we will be working towards a more fulfilling playing experience," Yoshi-P says. "But to start that off, we will be focusing on Battle content. So, once players get used to the changes in those battles, then we will look to the jobs and we will focus on providing more individuality in the jobs.“

Normal dungeons should be easier to do. But they should really add a harder level of dungeon that requires more than just hitting the boss and it dies. There should be things that make you pay attention, otherwise you are going to die/wipe. Not on the same scale of difficulty as Criterion dungeons/savage raids. I'm talking the same dungeons, just at max level and harder and more unique mechanics, with prioritizing certain trash mobs because they are dangerous to deal with. But not so hard that only a few people can clear it. Just require a bit more thinking. That would be more engaging. Similar to what we have with Unreal trials. Just make them with dungeons too.
Like during the first part of WoW Cataclysm, heroic (hard) dungeons were still clearable, but if you didn't know your class and tunneled through it, you were gonna have a bad time.
THIS!
The problem with job design lies completely in the hands of Square Enix and CBU3. Blaming some mysterious cabal of players is straight into tinfoil hat land.
I don't agree with punishing tanks for the decisions of Square Enix. After all, the players hardly have the ears of the designers.Once again my genuine hope for DT is anyone who is even 10% competent at healer simply abandons healer and forces these god tanks and DPS who support the god tanks to wait in 30 minute queues to get cure 1 spammers so the entire trinity can burn down around them
The absolute disrespect to the healer role is beyond a joke at this point and if you still support the tank design in modern 14 I hope you suffer with crap queues the entire expansion
For example, Dark Knights have been one of the red-headed stepchildren of FFXIV almost from their inception while Warriors have grabbed all the good buffs and abilities through multiple expansions now.
It is clear from reading all the threads in the various Role forums there is a serious disconnect between the feedback players are providing and what the developers provide back in turn. It's deady to a MMO when a gaming company places itself in an ivory tower, only listening to an echo chamber.
The graveyard of the gaming industry is filled with the bones of games of developers too arrogant to listen.
An ivory tower killed FFXIV 1.0. An ivory tower nearly killed WoW and an ivory tower will likely put FFXIV 2.0 in the ground a lot sooner than Square Enix expects.
What then? Will we get a new FFXIV MMO titled "A Realm Reborn Again", complete with a tearful Yoshi apologizing to the playerbase a second time? That'll go over big.
I don't know what'll happen with my top alt. She's a Dark Knight and they look to be one of the biggest losers in the upcoming updates. Maybe I'll make her a Viper. It'll be better than being everyone's last choice for a tank to group with.
As for healing, I'm at the end of my rope and have already informed my Free Company Dawn Trail will be my main character's tank and paint expansion. I'm going to be running Gunbreaker and Pictomancer as much as possible.
Looking forward to being the next Michelangelo, not the turtle one, the other guy. I just wish I had been looking forward to being a healer as well.

The Dev team have been responding to what we do and what the loudest voices have asked them to do time after time. People even back in ARR would do wall to wall pulls if not tank sack pulls. Or like in Toto-Rak constantly choosing the lower pathway. It's why you can't even target let alone damage the succubi from the lower section in Amdapor Keep. Why we have the 2min meta. We showed them that we didn't have the time to go exploring Sastasha's extra rooms or any other ARR and HW dungeons side rooms. Or allowing 1st timers the ability to get a map achievement for places like Temple of Quarn. Cause screw adds that you can ignore or picking up the Helm of Might. Heck even Pharos Sirius was given a small nerf soon after it came out due to being even more punishing than most things at the time. To the point at least on my server people wouldn't even want to que up for it.The whole playerbase does it because the dev team has been pushing in this direction since Shadowbringers.
They've streamlined combat so much that you can't play in any other way than the optimal way. That's entirely the dev team deciding to optimise the fun out of their own game.
Players will always choose the most efficient way, that doesn't mean that the game developers have to redesign the game in such a way that everyone has no choice but to play optimally.
So if you were a dev and you saw people for four years not want to explore or were trying to skip everything between boss fights would you do? Or if you again for years get told by a loud group that these things about certain jobs or how "difficult" it was to line up buffs felt clunky, not fun to use, or how punishing it felt if you died at the absolute wrong time in your rotation feel needed to be changed in how you design or balance jobs?
This is ridiculous this hasn't been addressed yet. Isn't there a lot of noise on the Japanese community? I say that because it seems for the most part it takes them in an uproar before SE even listens...
Nerf warrior healing and increase damage of the group content. I don't think there is a need to balance all the tanks but maybe I am wrong.
>Just wait until skill showcase, it's not going to be that bad

>Just wait until savage balance patch, it's not going to be that bad
>Just wait until next expansion's skill showcase, it's surely going to be better
